Hello,

Because I stink at banter and playful small talk, I've decided to try to respond to playful comments in written form. (I cannot practice in real life because everything happens too quickly and I can't think of anything to say.) I'm trying to get my brain used to thinking and responding in a playful manner.

Soooo....please throw out some playful comments, either one at a time, or in a list, and I can try answering them. Please, others refrain from answering until I'm done, and then maybe we can compare our responses?

Thanks!! ! :D

One of my favorites:

"I'm sorry". "Yeah, you better be".

Most of the time I can't tell whether I'm being teased or if the person is being serious.

I used this one on a buddy of mine on AIM a little bit ago.

Me: "Sorry for taking so long to respond -- I was drying my hair."
Friend: "No sweat."
Me: "Man, I should hope so; I just bathed."

I thought it was witty. >_>

I'm sorry. Can't think of a witty reply to that one. Anyone want to try? If so, please EXPLAIN how you came up with the answer.

I can relate. When the teasing is potentially critical I always take it as serious. I'm often wrong, from what others have told me.

No, it's the sound your girlfriend makes when we're going it doggy-style.

"And I'm sorry you couldn't think of a non-sucky comeback."

Ok, I gave it a try after all. It's kind of bitchy, but it's the best I could think of.

I stink at playful comments/ banter with people I dont really know. Only friends that know me well. I understand humor and I understand when its just a joke. Unless Im in the moment, I react weirdly.

I haven't given it much thought, but to me what immediately comes to mind is something short and simple.

Like "Ok, I'll behave" :)
