I speak verrrrry quietly because I am so paranoid about speaking in front of others. I have an aspie friend who is the opposite, and he speaks EXTREMELY loudly especially in stores. He has a tendancy to use socially inappropriate language and subject matter so it can be embarassing for me at times

Oh yeah, I have a very hard time regulating the volume of my voice. In fact, the easiest time I have is when my earphones are on because I conducted an informal experiment wherein I set the volume and then said a sentence and asked for feedback on how loud I was talking. Then I compared the volume of my music to the volume of my voice, and I could tell how loud to talk when my music is on because my ears can hear the difference. I guess that doesn't makes sense---but it works. My parents hate taking me places because I am very loud---but there is just so much extra noise that I have to talk over in my head!

I'm always either to loud or too quiet. I used to never be loud until I lived in New Jersey and be around my step fathers Italian Family. (Hmmm!!)

I don't have my DSMV-III on me now, but I can tell you that volume control is one of the symptoms of Aspergers.

We don't understand that we're too loud or too quiet, especially when talking about things we're interested in.

When I ask or say something, sometimes others think that I am speaking with myself becouse my voice is low but I still prefer it to a loud one

I have become better at this stuff, however it is one more thing that I have to attend to consciously, it is not natural. and I sometimes miss.
