I like children and the elderly. I think it's because they're outside the whole mechanism of people running around their lives, going through all the social interactions that people are expected to do. I think they are both much more relaxed. Unfortunately, many older people harbor cultural biases and many children don't have much knowledge, so they can' talk about much.

People my age tend to be catty.

I've always found adults easier to talk to. I like working with little kids though, because they don't have any expectations or hangups about social interaction.

Yes in some situations I suppose. I find 4-7 year olds and 16-18 year olds easiest to talk to.

In terms of age groups, probably people over the ages of 30 or 40. People that age tend to be more mature and enlightened compared to my own age group, so I usually find them more approachable as they tend to be more understanding about things. You get plenty of idiots in any age group though, so its not always the case. I don't feel threatened by young children but sometimes I'm not too sure what to say to them or how to act due to little exposure to them.

I find that people over the age of 30 are the easiest for me to talk to.

I can really get aggravated at kids who do stupid things.

I just caught my nephew's first grade daughter using the refrigerator door as a ladder to try to reach the ice cream in the freezer. And that's after I already gave her some ice cream, probably more than she should have had.

I always got on better with adults when I was a kid. Now I have nothing much to say to them. I dislike younger people for their immaturity and adults because I can't relate to them. I just keep to myself and post on forums. I get along better with people online than I do in real life.

Both older and younger. People my age I have nothing in common with.

I'm probably most comfortable talking to middle aged adults. I've never really had occasion to talk to little kids though...I might be okay at that...

I think it's a question of personalities more than age, although youngins tend to be excited over things I've done a thousand times over and am bored with, so that can sometimes be an issue.

I'm 29 and I find it extremely difficult to converse with peers around my age. People who are much older than me are usually the ones I'll speak with first.

I'm 21 and I find it easier to relate to children or anyone over 30 probably because I have similar interests towards theirs.

I used to be similar to the OP in that for most of my life, I've found talking to children easier. Today, I find kids annoying and really prefer the company of insightful and mature adults. I'll also get along with people around my age if they are more mature than others. I really enjoy talking about ideas, feelings and deeper concepts as opposed to the pointless small talk that most people my age do.

My diagnoses - social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
