Hehehe if I didn't surrender my bowl and fork after the first round I probably would have had too much to eat as well. I was pleased with my restraint.

I don't know why everyone isn't coming to these meet-ups, they are awesome :D What's next??? (Saturday the 2nd of March.)

I have lots of ideas but perhaps somebody else deserves a chance at suggesting something this time!

Put the ideas up. So far we have yet to do mini golf, 10-pin bowling, bushwalking, cafeing. I was also thinking maybe hiring a couple of tennis, squash or badminton courts. If people are up for a longer outing like last night we could do dinner --> movie --> discuss movie over a drink. There was the Williamstown beach suggestion yesterday. Chuck your ideas in and we can have a vote!

I'll have to take off at about 8pm that night so I'd love it if we could kick things off in the afternoon like we did yesterday. I was thinking afternoon tea somewhere (Hopetun Tearooms or Dessert Story, maybe) could be nice, and I like the movie idea, but I'm not sure what will be showing then!

EDIT: Totally down for bushwalking too if we can't agree on a film.

I personally would prefer minigolf, bushwalking or the tennis/badminton/squash courts. 10-pin bowling tends to be very loud. I'm also OK with dinner -> movie -> drinks if it's a good movie.

Okay, I have a dilemma. There's a event on all weekend that I want to go to, but I'm busy Sunday so I can't go that day. It has to be the Saturday but that's our meet-up day. So I might have to not go to this meet-up, or...we could all go to the event together. It's perhaps a bit expensive for some, and we won't be back by 8pm for Ruckus.

It's the Air Show at Avalon. It's $60 (or $50 concession) and goes all day. Personally I think it's a perfect day out for us, but I don't know if anyone would agree with that.

Thoughts?

Sounds interesting. I'd like to see the air show.

Yes for Airshow! I've been wanting to see that for a few years actually.

Other than that, I'd prefer bushwalking or maybe mini-golf. Movie could be a backup plan in case of bad weather, but to me it's not much of a social activity. (Plus I have a feeling I'll be watching a lot of movies soon after the next meeting.) A longer outing like the last one would be good, so we could do dinner and drinks after whatever activity we choose. Agree with Lachlan on bowling.

I looked up Hopetoun Tearooms and the photos look pretty awesome. :D I'd be totally up for it if we do something in the CBD. If we wanted to mix bushwalking with cakes and tea we could go to Mt Dandenong. Or if beach is the go, I don't know Williamstown, but I know St Kilda beach is near Monarch Cakes. (Damn, now I feel hungry!)

If people are up for a bit of a drive, Bruno's Art and Sculpture garden in Marysville is pretty interesting - and that's coming from someone who's not really into art.

If the Airshow idea doesn't go ahead, I'll be going to that anyway. It's a great day out and I don't want to miss it. I might be able to go on the Sunday, so if those of you who do want to go are free that day, we might be able to do both if that's not too much socialising.

There's definitely plenty of easy bushwalks in the Dandenongs.
Marysville is quite close to Cathedral Ranges, also good for walking (but more difficult).

My vote looks like this:

1. Airshow
2. Bushwalking
3. Mini golf

And afternoon tea sounds good but could be combined with 2 or 3 perhaps. In terms of exact venues for any of these, I'm easy.

Ugh, I forgot one of the main things I meant to mention. There's a social boardgame playing afternoon/evening on the 2nd as well. Is that an option? It's a sort of public event, as in, we'd be interacting with other people as well.

Mine too.

Board games are good and all, but the Airshow is only on once every 2 years, so I think we should catch it while we can.

Let's make the meet-up on the next weekend, the 9th March, does that suit people? That way it can be a bushwalk, mini-golf and/or teahouse.

Alright then, it's a double for March then. The air show and whatever we decide on for the weekend after. I'll come to both.

I definitely can't do the air show but I'm up for something more low key (and cake-filled) on the 9th!

I couldn't make it last time due to other commitments, next month looks good though.
