Thanks yellowtamarin for the tip that this thread has had new activity!

I'm usually free on weekends, at least one day per weekend anyway. I'm also usually free in the evenings on weekdays.

Is the CBD the most convenient meeting place for everyone? If it is, we can narrow down the exact location later. When do you move to Melbourne, alessi?

CBD is best for me I expect. I will be moving pretty soon - within the next few weeks. I know no one in Melbourne so I would definitely love to come.

So...I got PMd...

Sorry guys...when I was unemployed and had free time I offered to meet up with Melbourne people on this very thread and got zero responses.

Now that I'm working again I simply don't have the luxury for catchups...I'll leave this activity to those of you without family or work commitments.

Have fun anyway and don't be afraid to take the plunge and meet new people :)

^ Aw, I replied to you once I saw it, then we organised a zoo trip, but you had bowed out of the convo.

I work full-time myself, it will most likely be held on the weekend to be the most manageable for the most people. Keep watching the thread anyway cyberdad, it might end up being held on a day you are free.

Yep, if you ever have kids you'll find out how precious time is...enjoy your freedom

I will definitely come once I have moved there. I think it sounds very good.

What kind of difficulties do you mean? I don't think that any of us who turned up had difficulties (other than finding the right gate at the Zoo but that's no biggy), but I couldn't say for sure...

Sensory issues and such.
I'm 21 and I still have quite intense sensory issues.

I can imagine going to the Melbourne airshow would have been quite painful.

Thanks for the PM yellowtamarin.

My weekends are quite full at the moment so it's unlikely I'll be able to make it to anything in the foreseeable future.

I'd be interested in joining a Melbourne AS meetup

Haven't looked at this thread in a while. Does the weekend of the 29th-30th suit many people?

Hello Mintygreen! I try to respond to stuff in this thread but nothing has actually happened in ages. I don't live in Melbourne anymore so I mentioned when I was in town for a boardgames event (once a month) but nobody seems interested, boo hoo :P

If you organise something and I'm in town, I'm still up for meeting more aspies! :)

Potentially interested in meetups? And by potentially I mean, potentially. I often bail on social events with people I've known for years... But still! Signing up for updates and maybe a catchup!

This is happening in four weeks. I'll hopefully be there.

Does that sound suitable? It's not a specific aspie meetup but we could have some secret handshake to identify ourselves :P
I go to this event every month (normally indoors in the city) and it's heaps of fun.

I'm still around and open to a meet-up, I expect to have a bit more time on my hands this year. Does anyone else fancy meeting up for a yack?

I'm down on the Mornington Peninsula, but happy to drive into the big city as and when necessary. Retired now so all my time is my own.
