How many friends do you have?

Depending on how you determine i'd probably say i have between 10-15, and that makes me feel lonely all the time.

How many do most of you have? How does that make you feel?

I don't always feel lonely, because I do like/need to be alone a lot of the time, but when the loneliness hits it hits hard. It's a vicious circle too because the less I socialise, the less I know how to socialise, so by the time I'm lonely enough to want a friend I'm too inept to make one.

Real life- I have 2 friends. My family doesn't talk to me anymore really, so I don't have their support much.

Online- I have like 4 decent friends that I can tell anything and I would likely meet someday if possible.

I get lonely a lot and feel like I can only have online friends and not many real life ones.

One or two irl and about 3-5 online.

I have one friend not counting my girlfriend. I only see him about 1ce a year sense I moved across the country to be with my girlfriend. We do text alittle but we don't text very often. I wouldn't mind having some friends offline but I don't know where to meet people here. I would like to have some online friends too(I used to have a lot in the past) so your Welcome to PM me if you wouldn't mind having an online friend.

I have only had two friends in my entire life. Both are immediate family members.

One who used to be my best friend, I no longer trust, they no longer try to maintain our relationship. The other, I will never be able to tell them everything like I did with my best friend.

I feel no hope for having another relationship like these that took me 30 YEARS to build with people I saw EVERY DAY... SINCE BIRTH.

But how do you get online friends?

This will make me feel sad later but basically I have zero friends.

Outside of my family (within whom I include my avatar as we are on E mail terms), I have no friends and I prefer to keep it that way.

well, this is pathetic but 0 in real life, a girlfriend who's leaving me, but at least I get along with my family. No friends online (yet), and a few acquaintances at work. I was just diagnosed and it's been a tough decade, so I'm hoping the numbers improve in the future.

But right now I'm not really feeling lonely. I don't feel much of anything but I have a feeling once the girlfriend leaves it's going to be tougher.

The number is not important!! ! You may have 1 friend but if he is present it's perfect. I'm talking about the true friends. Not the peoples that you know a little. Nobody have MANY real close friends. You just have to find the good people.

It's pretty pathetic.

To assure me, my mother would always say to me, "Quality over quantity!" and I was always quite persistent in arguing that having fewer friends does not mean these friendships are deeper. I'm living proof that it's possible to be deficient in both quality of friends and quantity.

I would say zero, it's been that way since I was like 20. All I have is my messed up family.
