Simple thread, just the title question. Are you closest to a family member, mum, dad or sibling or a friend or boyfriend/spouse or are you not close to anyone ect? Also, how old are you?

The closest person to me is my mum, no question. I'm 29.

 No I didn't mean closest in age. I meant 1)who are you closest to emotionally/socially ect or are you not close to anyone and have no emotional attachment to any other person? and 2) how old are you? Sorry, I'm really tired tonight and didn't phrase the OP well.

Children are usually closest to a parent or sibling and then teens and young adults are closest to a friend or boyfriend/girlfriend and older adults maybe a spouse or children if they have them.

I don't have a partner, spouse or children. I do have a friend, maybe two, but I haven't heard from the other one in a really long time. I have siblings and cousins but I don't get along with them. The person I'm closest to is my mum and I'm 29 years old.

My mother and I'm 27. Unfortunately we live in different towns now.

It has always been my mother, with my grandfather as second. There has never been anyone else I've been close to IRL (unless you count pets).
I'm 36.

Hi

First I would like to know how you would class closeness? If you mean is there anyone you would tell anything to and you know you could always rely on then I think the closest person to me would be my therapist.

But if you mean someone in your life, you don't have pay for a service then it would be my best friend Gabby. I'm 32 she is 24 but she really doesn't get my Aspergic nature, I have told her but she doesn't really want to listen nor does she get how I can spend so much time alone.

I am starting to realise I will never be really close to an NT because there are very few people who possess the patience to listen and take the time to understand me. I don't know maybe my expectations of friendship are too high.

I'm closest to my friends because they're more supportive than family. Early 20's.

I never had a close relationship with my family because they didn't understand my issues. The person I'm closest too is my girlfriend who's the same age as me which is 31 & she's also somewhat on the sp0ectrum; we met here on WP.

My diagnoses - social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

I’m no longer involved with the ASD world.

Well, I do mean closest in your life but I guess it's a very loosely defined figure of speech, being close to someone.

I'm closest to a friend I met in high school. I've hardly seen him in person since we graduated, but we keep each other updated through phone calls, Facebok, etc. I'm in my early 20s. He was never diagnosed as Asperger's/Autism, but we share a lot of the same traits.

I only feel emotionally close to someone if I am comfortable being literally close nearby sitting next to them or something. I'm not sensitive or aware of emotional closeness so that's how I tell I guess.
Who I can reveal anything about myself, well I guess that could be anyone depending on how chatty I am at any given moment.
