I think you've recovered a lot better than you think you have, Julian! Very Happy

UM no I have not  I'll contemplate a Meet UP when I am certain I am 100 % recovered (when I become a productive member of society, off disability and in employment . I'll try again. :)

BTW did you eat the muffins , I wouldn't be surprised if you bind them , beware of strange men bearing gifts!

I ate the muffins and I'm still alive and healthy! And still an Aspie!! ! Sometimes I really love being an Aspie. Being an Aspie is cool and meeting other Aspies is one of the best things that ever happened to me =)

Hey guys! :D

Everybody has Totally forgotten to even mention the meetup we are having tomorrow!

So, here is Another right at the last minute notification.
I apologize to the people that might have been able to come with a bit of advance warning. :(

Mikako has organised a day at the beach, followed by a bushwalk somewhere.

Mikako wrote:
Surf / Turf Day Out
Come and join for outdoor activities like swimming, snorkeling and bushwalking
Date: Sunday, 15 May 2010
Time: 10.30 am onwards
Venue:
Meet at Tallebudgera Fitness Recreation Camp (on the eastern southern side of the bridge). There are plenty of carpark spaces, and there is a bus stop at the Recreation Camp.

Her directions are a little vague but I think it next to the Tallebudgera Surf Life Saving Club, which I also do not know where is.

I have been thinking about it all week and am really excited! :D
I go bushwalking for fun, so this is right up my alley.
I'll be collecting seeds and cuttings and gushing about all the awesome plants,
all the way along, like I did at the Mt Cootha Meet. :D

I just realised, I meant to call Michsta and Bella1 ALL week and tell them about it.
 :( :x

Another idea I've had is, how about we go sailing?
Back when I was in school, I opted out of all the sports options and joined the sailing club. It's one of my more pleasant memories of school days.
A sunny day, a gentle breeze, good company, and laze the day away on the water. :D
It's quiet and relaxing, but also exhilarating and refreshing.
Nothing too adventurous, just a dally around in the Broadwater.
I've been meaning to join the Southport Yacht Club since I left school,
so I'll get my finger out and join up. :D

The next meeting at Tugun with Mikako will be on Sunday, 13 June 2010 at 3 - 5 pm. The venue is still at Tugun Village Community Centre
(414 Coolangatta Road, Tugun). The topics for the next meeting are:
stresses in our lives
how we cope / not cope with them

There you go, lots of advance warning this time! :D

^It will be nice to meet you tonka. :)

I finally found some time to upload some photos ! :D

Here's Melbi at the Tugun meet :
image deleted by syzygyish until I get confirmed permission!
Isn't she cute! just adorable! :D :lmao:

Last Sundays meet up at the beach was disappointing, only me, MattD and Ben showed up. Apparently mikako just 'suggests' these meetups and doesn't actually organize them or attend! :x

But it was a good 'boys day out', we hung out most of the day and walked through Burleigh Heads National Park. :D
I ate an oyster off the rocks : it was yucky! :eew:

The view south over Palm Beach :

A cool rock :

The source of the rock :

I think they are extruded volcanic lava tubes, I forget the technical name.

We saw a few Brush Turkeys :
Image
This guy walked right up to our feet! :D People walked past us every few minutes, so they must be really acclimatised to human contact. Plus there were signs saying 'Don't feed the wildlife' but I bet people gave them the occasional tidbit.

The view north to Surfers Paradise :

A Really Awesome flowering plant that I think is a weed, I'm going to identify it this week :

:D

An ocean view, can you see the tanker on the horizon?Image

"Sand swirls" by syzygyish

Last picture, after Matt and Ben had gone home, from my car :
Image
I mis-timed it a bit actually, this little guy had two dozen birds flocking around him initially! :D

The one photo that's missing that i wish I had taken is of these young Strangler figs that were wrapped around their host trees, similar to this :
Image
Simply amazing! I'm going to climb up some of the feral pest trees in my suburb and plant some! 8)

It was a great day. Matt's nice! He didn't say much because of me and Ben chatting boisterously, but I caught him smiling at our shenanigans. :)
I wouldn't mind another trip up to Brisbane next weekend, if anyone's interested, whether it's just for lunch or a walk through a forest.
I have a book of walking tracks in Queensland that I'm dying to explore! :D

Cheers! :D

Nice photo syzygyish! Should have gone to rescue MattD :D
I would love bush walking after exam. But I'm going overseas after exam. Maybe when I'm back in early July :)

And for the photo, you can post it on WP as long as it doesn't show my face:)

^Thanks Julien. :D
You know you Can delete double posts in this thread?

The latest news : Me, Melbi and MattD and possibly one other Aspy are coming up to Brisbane on Saturday to have a look at the Queensland Museum at SouthBank ! Woot! :D :D :D

All Aspies are invited to attend.

I have been up once before, but timed it so badly I didn't get there until 20 minutes before closing time. I am dying to explore the whole place this time.

Hope to see you there,
Cheers,
Matt

I might come up there tomorrow, to the museum. But to the museum only, I dunno how to get to Toowong. What time are you all getting there?

Quatermass is going :D

This is the plan. syzygyish will drive MattD to my place, and I'll drive all of you up to Brizzie in my Toyota. Save patrol money, parking money and the earth :P There's secure undergroud parking at my place so your car will be safe. syzygyish said he knows a nice restaurant in Toowong... but I'm actually thinking that maybe we should have lunch somewhere closer to the museum. There are some nice restaurant in Southbank and West End area.

About the time, still need to discuss with syzygyish...we're thinking about leaving at 10-11ish at the moment.

You can bring a MP3 disc coz I don't have much music on the car.

Also there will be both quiet and talkative Aspies on the car, so you can choose to either be quiet or talkative, no stress.

What do you think?

I was just planning on coming up on the train and meeting you lot at the Museum at Southbank. Then, once you've had your little browse, I just go home again.
