Hi Quatermass, after all these years we're finally going to meet!
:D

It's a pity you don't want to come up with us.
Aspy road trip! :D
And lunch is on me!

Oh, I think I'll pm Who_Am_I and see if she wants to come.
And Tonka and AussieBloke and Michsta.

If I forgot anybody, send me a pm.

Just consider this: I like to go to places on my own terms, so going on the train means I can go home when I wish. No offence.

Just tell me at what time you intend to get to the museum, and I'll be there.

I did figure that was your reasoning.
That's exactly the attitude I have to social occasions and the strategy I have used throughout my whole life.
Being Aspies, as diverse as we are, there are some qualities we have in common,
and nonchalance to, and a good exit strategy from, social interactions, is certainly one of them.
No offense is taken and no apology is necessary. :)

Now, That's a tricky one!
.... We're going to say ... Twelvish... Definitely before One... I hope.
Getting my act together and keeping appointments is the single most difficult challenge I have never managed to conquer in this Aspy life.

I'm really motivated for this though, so may manage to surprise myself.

Who_Am_I has been texted,
Bella1 has received a message bank phone call,
Tonka and AussieBloke have been pmed.

I think I may have left it too late though. :(

Hey Guys,

I'm interested in coming along to the museum meet-up. Should we make it 12.30pm out the front of the museum?

For some reason, I haven't been getting any notifications about this thread. I only realised things were still happening when I got syzygyish's message.

Well, I assumed everyone was going to have a little look-see inside the museum.

I'll be there between 12 and 12:30 PM, then.

Chow Bella! :D (I've been dying to say that.)

It looks like 12.30 is set in stone.
I lost my old phone recently and all the old numbers I had on it,
do you think Michsta would be available? And could you call her?
I had to put all the numbers back in again from old pm's.

 :wall:
I think only Australians have this problem.
You have to be signed in when you read a post, to follow it, for a start.
Then, if you read a thread down to the last post and underneath that it says
"Stop watching this topic" you MAY be alright and receive the next message,
but don't trust it!
But if you see a message that says "Watch this topic for replies"
then you are out of the loop and will never get informed about new posts in this thread ever again!

The Topic Reply Notification on WP has some serious bugs in it!
It just drives me crazy!
I think my post count would be double or even triple if I was able to follow conversations consistently!
(Not that I care about my post count)

Quatermass, what are your thoughts on this?

You're SO busy ALL the time!
Next time I'll make it a priority to give you a months notice of the next MeetUp!
I remember that you said you needed lots of notice for Meetups, now.
Sorry. :(

Melbi plays the Violin too
and I wanted to introduce you two.

Two things. One, although I am a moderator, please don't automatically assume that I can fix the inner program workings of WP. I don't have that power, and I certainly don't have any relevant programming ability. Only Alex has that capability, and contacting him to get things fixed is difficult, although he promptly responded to a problem recently, although whether he has actually fixed it or not seems to be the problem.

Two, I don't actually use the email notification feature, else I'd get cluttered with emails. I just go to where the threads are and check them with the two squishy globular organs embedded in my skull. My eyes, before anyone makes any crude jokes.

My thoughts? If this email notification problem happened after this was moved from the Getting to Know Each Other forum, then it might have been the move itself that caused this. But this is just guesswork.

Okay, so 12:30pm at the museum, then we have a browse through it (I assume), and then I go home while you go off to...wherever else.

Oh, and it's 'Ciao', not 'Chow'. Sorry, I can't help but be pedantic.

Thanks Quatermass. :)
I know the problem is a WrongPlanet.net problem and not something that can be fixed by Moderators or Alex
... Also, I love your sense of humour!
Don't think I haven't noticed!

We'll be going straight home, back to the Gold Coast, after a Huge Day!
I'm looking forward to At Least Four Hours driving time, tomorrow!
I hate driving! :x
I wish now I'd agreed to melbi's suggestion that we take the train up!
Maybe we would have all caught the train up together and you would have wondered about those weirdos in the corner and we would have wondered about that weirdo in the other corner!
 :lmao:

I'm so excited about tomorrow but quite anxious at the same time ( typical aspie?) ...very anxious actually...make sure i take Valium :P

syzygyish, please text me in the morning about the exact time you and MattD will arrive at my place, so I won't be in the middle of something when you guys arrive lol thanks =)

Hey guys, got a lovely text from Bella last night (it is saturday morning) about the meet up today. In my usual style, I can't seem to make a decision. It is raining and my man was going to go to a car show, so he may not go now. I am also having a pretty bad fibromyalgia flare up so pain is a factor.......

I did tell Bella I wouldn't be able to come.......but if Adrian(my fiance) can bring me I will try and meet you guys there if thats okay. Bella, Szy and Paul can tell you about Adrian if you like. He doesn't have AS, but he is very supportive and great sense of humour 8).

Sorry to be so indecisive, but that seems to be my lot :(

Hopefully see you guys later.......

Mics
