sysygyish says:

really motivated for this though, so may manage to surprise myself.

Well you've certainly surprised me , your like the energizer bunny, go go go what trigged all this (sudden) wanting to be social? (If I recall you said life for an aspie really begins at 40 (I think you where in recluse up to that point?)

You certainly seem like a generous person offering to buy lunch etc for the people here , is it really necessary ? would an aspie even accept your generosity? no offense  I wont, I'm not a sponger!

Hi aussieblock,

I am not quite sure what you're saying here. syzygyish has bipolar and he is at his high point at the moment, so being "high" and wanting to socialise is one of the consequences.

Every Aspie is different. For me, I enjoy my own time, but I also want to socialise with people. I wasn't able socialise in the NT world, so I put most of my social energy in the Aspie world. I love to be alone, but I also want friends. I've always love to attend any Aspie events.

Offering lunch is just a way of showing friendliness. Inappropriate social action is one of Aspie's biggest problems, isn't it? But I wouldn't say offering lunch is inappropriate. It is just like Melbi offered to drive everyone up to Southbank and down to Palm Beach. I actually accepted syzygyish's Subway offer. Accepting someone else's offer means connecting the friendship. A sponger is someone who stick to others and scab for freebies. One who accepts someone else's offer is definately not a sponger.

PS. syzygyish ended up sleeping in for 2 hours :pig: ...motivation?! !!

Thanks for clearing the matter up had no idea he was bi poloar , I knew he was OCD so I thought (perhaps) being social/wanting to meet new people had become one of his AS obsessions!

I was quite manic before being (correctly ) medicated , it wasn't all bad better than any street drug, until I had the come downs....

Hey! Have you ever heard the expression "Any Landing you walk away from is a good one" !

We all got there alive, and no matter how annoyed Quatermass was that we we're late,
I am still proud that I got us all there in a user friendly state.

The whole day was a long hard slog,
from the moment I got up to the moment I completely failed and let you take James and mattD home alone .
I shouldn't have done that!
Even though I know James and MattD are completely harmless and wonderful Aspies

It was up to ME to get you home safe!

I will Never let you down like that again!

I just have a fairly literal-minded approach to appointments. I try not to be more than five or ten minutes late if I can help it. That's part of the reason why I was annoyed. Oh, and my phone doesn't have internet browser access, so going onto WP for messages via my phone is a no-no. So, as well-intentioned as melbi's message was, I didn't get it in time to mitigate my irritation.

The problem is, Queensland Museum hasn't really changed in the four months or so since I was last there, and all the really good exhibits that I loved have been removed. What happened to the Australian prehistoric wildlife section? That was a good exhibition.

Still, I came for the company, and it was interesting to meet you in real life.

I found a Brisbane Doctor Who club - http://brisbanedoctorwhofanclub.com/

They have little meet-ups to watch episodes of Doctor Who. Haven't been to any yet.

I also found a Brisbane Sci-Fi and Fantasy Group that has meet-ups from Facebook. If you're on facebook, just type Brisbane Sci-Fi and Fantasy in the search box.

'Twas a good little meet-up on Saturday. Have to catch up again sometime. :)

hi aussiebloke, I've posted in another thread, but I'll copy paste here=)

here's Kumo at the pet shop, holding by the shop owner.

He kept running around in the house non-stop, so hard to take a photo. this is the clearest one.

Finally he got tired and fell asleep. Can't believe he likes the teddy instead of the very expensive puppy bed I bought lol

This is not really related, but I sometimes push people away and say "just leave me alone"...but I actually were hoping that they would stay with me....lol...

Anyway, come up to GC and you can have fun with Kumo :D I'm sure he'll love you coz he's a male and he loves female :P

I'm actually thinking about going to north NSW during the holidays, but hasn't plan anything yet. Will look more into it after exams =)
