I used to be very heavily into an MMORPG. I don't regret it, as I learned a whole lot about myself and about other people during those years. That being said, I would never choose to do it again.

I read and post on a few message boards, but that's it. Despite being an avid gamer, I don't like multiplayer games because I don't like having to deal with the other players.

I never felt like I belong anywhere other than in the MapleStory community. Although some players are as*holes, I found it easier to deal with mean people online rather than irl. If you're good at a game, people praise you and stuff (like call you a pro).

I admit that I have been addicted to Neopets in grades 7 and 8. Playing it for at least 2 hours after school every day was my way of relieving stress.
In grade 9, I became addicted to this MMORPG called Conquer Online. My friend told me about it. I was totally obsessed with it for a year.
Then, closer to the summer holidays I have discovered Maplestory, and also spent quite a bit of time playing it. I think I played it for at least 2 months, made a break in August, and when school started played it again for 1-2 months.
I still play Maplestory and Conquer Online occasionally. What really disappointed me about Maplestory is that I bought a pet and some clothes for real money (yes, that's how addicted I was) but then after 2 months, they were gone! :(
Well, I knew that was going to happen, but still... what a waste. Another thing that annoys me about Maplestory is that it often takes me several tries to log in. Other than that, it's a relaxing game. I even uploaded some of the music from the game onto my mp3 player. :)

Official WoW loser, here, and before that, I played Anarchy Online. Also, I used to love political forums. Prepare to be soundly trounced, ye rightwing aplogists! Erm, sorry, I'll stop now.

I was obsessed with the Sims for awhile, and got quite depressed when I realized my Sims had a better life than I did.

I actually avoided MMORPGs for years, because I just knew I'd eventually get hooked and sit at the computer 16 hours a day doing nothing else, and lo and behold, that is how I spend my days.

Online poker was last year's obsessions, I'd play the freerolls and the penny poker games. I didn't do too bad, but I'll never be good enough to make more than a few dollars here and there, which depresses me even more than my successful Sims did.

Sim City and Sim Farm and Myst were other games I went nuts over, and I played a text-based MuD for awhile too.

Sim City fell out of memory - that game was addictive! I was addicted to that, Myst, Phantasmagoria and Jill of the Jungle.

Lol, I also played Neopets. Wow if you started around grade 9 I bet its around after Beta was over. You probably play Scania if it takes you a lot of times to log in. Lol, and I don't spend money on MS, I use MapleStory trade system to get NX cash. xD

Well, I started right at the very end of grade 9. Beta was over already. And no, I actually play Broa. What's the MapleStory trade system? PM me if you like.

I'd give good money for a MMORPG that had good quality players - players who understood what the "RP" bit meant!
Although I disagree with the way they're sold - if you're going to pay for a game you shouldn't have to pay to play it every month, too. I know there are running costs associated, and development costs, but there's something that doesn't sit comfortably with me in having to buy the game and then rent the service.

I play Istaria, one of the two mmo's where you can play as a dragon. I've played for a week and have found 2 people with Aspie syndrome on the game's forum. I go to the roleplay server but if we put extra apostraphes around our sentence, we can chat in normal speak.

That's a cool game, kinda reminds of Mabinogi, another nexon game, which I am very noob at.

I used to constantly spend time on an anime chat forum, in the chat room, and on the message boards.
