In my mind, I usually except them, but I have trouble trying to return the favor (or showing appreciation for it). Why? I have no idea. Luckily, people are nice and forgiving and will give compliments even if I don't seem to appear thankful. Now that I think about it, I should probably be a bit more greatful for people.

A little off-topic, but I doubt anyone's going to give me compliments on my avatar.

I'm very modest and tend to almost feel uncomfortable being complimented in many things.

i would agree with many of the people here that i do not feel that comfortable with compliments, although for the most part if i do get one i try my best not to either act like they're stating the obvious or deny that the compliment is legitimate. Lately i have been also giving the odd compliment, although its more by observation of situation where people traditionally give compliments rather than feeling a real need to say so. As well, typically my compliments suck so i only give them when i deem necessary and i try to keep them simple.

My usual response is to get embarrased and ignore it. Don't know if this is the best way to respond though.
