Lurv my dog. She's the best.

Though sometimes I worry that she is neglected. She doesn't do much other than sit on the couch. We call her our little "couch cushion". Poor thing. I'm not the fondest of walking in the neighbourhood so she only gets walked every couple of days. I play with her and she sits with me when reading or watching tv but can't when i'm on her nemesis, the computer.

Animals in general are something I feel safe around. They are also a great people buffer.

I've been around dogs my whole life. I've never met a dog I didn't like or that didn't like me. I'm actualy more of a reptile person than a dog one.

I prefer dogs as a collective to people as a collective. I would rather spend time around dogs than people as well. Dogs are easier to read than people-- they don't lie. What is it that Christopher said in "The Curious Incedent of the Dog in the Night-Time"? Something like "Dogs have four moods: happy, cross, sad and concentrating"? I'm not entirely certain.

I can't help but feel sad about people who are afraid of dogs. They really do enrich our lives and make us feel better in every way. My dog cuddles up to me in bed when I am having trouble sleeping, without getting in my way. Sometimes he will lay between me and the rest of the room like he's trying to protect me from what is out in the world, but whenever he has a seizure, he looks to me to protect him. We comfort each other during thunderstorms! He is a very happy dog who has no reason to be happy (he was hit by a truck before I adopted him and took a lot of damage... I am sure life hurts for him a lot of the time). Sometimes I have to learn lessons from him-- no matter how much life hurts, live it anyway.

I'm sorry to hear you are afraid of dogs. If you ever desire to be try to be around dogs, I might suggest starting with bigger dogs. The little ones are much more likely to be aggressive for many reasons. I didn't want to believe popular notions, but Labs do seem to be amongst the most friendly and low-key of breeds. Of course there are exceptions to every rule.

I just know that I'm much more comfortable approaching a strange dog than a strange person!

I have a rat terrier puppy named Josie. Her feet smell like popcorn. She is 7 years old.

I think my Basset hound knows about my condition.
He's extra gentle when playing with me.
He's just a pup and gets rowdy sometimes, but I think he gets it.
I love dogs!
I want to stop working with people someday and just work with dogs.

hi Appelmuisjes, are they the pink or blue ones, or the soft white powdery? Mmmmmm nice.

I love dogs. They smell fear and they smell a lot of other things as well, like sweat and the difference between a criminal and a 'normal' person. grew up with a dog, but now I have two cats.

The online translators are rubbish, you can do much better yourself. Don't worry if you make mistakes, that's how you learn.

I voted afraid of dogs, however I am only afraid of them when they are acting aggressive and unchained. This isn't the best, because if I'm not afraid then they wont hurt me, also I deliver newspapers, so being afraid of dogs is a really bad thing for me.

Yeah, its amazing how rowdy some dogs are toward newspaper carriers. Once when collecting I reached for the door handle and literally had a dog jump up and bite my cuff and just dangle there. The owner was completely ok with this, he just picked him up and put him back down, no apologies or anything.

I love dogs. I understand dogs better than people. They're simpler and easier to deal with than people. The thing I think I like most about dogs is that whatever behaviour problems they have are usually no fault of their own, it's usually because their owner doesn't understand them and it's usually fixable. Their body language is alot easier to read and alot more genuine. If a dog looks friendly and is conveying friendliness then they're going to be friendly. Dogs don't know how to fake a smile like people do. And dogs are easier to please than people are.

It depends on the dog. I'm very picky. The dog has to have a good personality, be fun and look good. I'm very picky about looks (for a number of things) and I don't care how nice or good natured a dog is, if I think it's an ugly dog, I won't want to be around it.

My dogs make me laugh. They have toys, play tug of war, pull the stuffing out of plush stuffed animals we get cheap at Goodwill, the smallest one jumps on the ottoman to attack his lab mix friend, they are wonderful.
We have serial dogs. I have to have them.
Loving a dog is like loving a terminally-ill child, but I have to do it. Could sooner go without HEAT.
Currently have three dogs.

I love with dogs, and all animals for that matter. I was obsessed with dogs when I was younger. I would sit and read this dog breed encyclopedia all day. I knew every dog, their breed standard, temperament, origin, etc. Now I love anything involving dogs and dog training. I have a lab and am in the process of getting a Doberman to compete with. But yeah, you can say I like dogs a little too much. :D

Love dogs.
Love cats.

Have cats right now as they're easier to keep in an apartment.
Have had success establishing with ours that I am the dominant one in the pride.
Wife has had less success and her 2 sort of run her over.

Two deceased dogs are dearly missed, Captain Mack the beagle pup my parents got after I was born. He was the runt of the litter but had a heart and spirit the size of a wolfhound. Brandy was a collie a breeder was selling. She appeared to have been mistreated, was scared to death of the Christmas tree the first year but soon had to be run over with the vacuum to get her to move. Loved to play soccer, and US football with NERF footballs. Was really prissy for about two days after being groomed but then her basic "lady jock" nature came out and she was right back to rough-and-tumble.

I love dogs; get along okay with dogs; but, there's still some who do evoke a fear response when aggressive.
I guess you just have to put on your poker face and bluff them out.

I have two toy poodles, both of whom I adore. They are my best friends. I think I would be perfectly content with only canine companionship for the rest of my life. Every day I get home, they drop whatever they are doing to greet me. It's nice to be so important.

Poodles are smart, friendly, and they are often used as 'therapy' dogs. Plus toys and minis are happy in small apartments/etc. They don't need a lot of room as long as they get to go on walks. Also, they love treats!

I live near the Seeing Eye in New Jersey and there are loads of seeing eye Poodles walking around. It's funny, that's how the labradoodles and goldendoodles came around, because they wanted a Seeing Eye dog with a Poodle's hypoallergenic coat but didn't think their temperament was good for a Seeing Eye dog so they bred them with retrievers. But yeah, they're great dogs.

Oh I loooove Bassets! I really wanted my parents to get one for their first dog because they're so mellow, but they wanted to go with the more popular lab, who turned out to be too rambunctious for them. Bassets are awesome and so darn cute!
