I've learned through observing people's reactions to the things I say and do. I can't believe how clueless I was when i was in my teens. It's only now that I am 29 that I feel like I am at a level of social intelligence that my peers had reached by the time they were 20. Rather than look back in dispare at how daft some of the things I did were, I try and be proud of how much I have grown in the past 10 years.

I think my sister helped alot. She is more sociable than me and understands how to interact with people. Watching her, how she interacts, what she says to people, even how she dresses etc helped me learn how to behave. She's younger than me as well and finds it bizzarre that I get advice from her. It's meant to be the other way round.
