In my opinion, pity friendships are wrong on so many levels. I mean, if you like someone and think he or she is a nice person and feel bad that others bully him or her, then it's nice to become their friend. But if the only emotion you have towards someone is pity, I think it's more trouble than it's worth. Friendships should be give and take. If you're constantly doing the giving...well, that's what therapists are for.
