When someone asks "How are you doing?," I always reply "Well, I've been a lot better . . . .but I've been a lot worse, too. So, I'll take it the way it is." Sometimes gets me a weird, blank look, but usually gets a chuckle. YMMV

"Babygurl"? That's... off putting. You are not an infant. You are most likely a grown woman. Get him back with, "Nothing much, lil' boy." There, you've captured the absurdity and misogyny of that statement while playfully emasculating him!
