@ Krisiona

YUP! But when I did try to do the relationship thing, I spent most of my time calculating what she was going to do, say, or expect down the line based on how she was acting in-the-moment! I was accurate to a T, but being with her began to QUICKLY feel more like a CHORE than anything else!

SO much for the HONEYMOON

^ ^ It's an interesting comparison, and probably relevant.

However, my experiences beyond that 3 month mark are more in line with sensory overload. I get overwhelmed and stop being able to communicate. I get stuck in communication a lot. I have experienced what's known as selective mutism in these situations. It's almost like overwhelming shyness and a sense of not knowing what the heck is happening.

I do that in a lot of situations! I just didn't know that THAT is what it was called! I even remember kids at school pointing it out - not so much in a mean way. Just that it would take me so long to respond IF I even DID respond! I mean, I even remember one specific situation in the 8th grade when someone pointed it out when someone confronted me! I couldn't come back at him right away, but I did much later after the initial stand-off!

It feels JUST the way you describe it!

Yeah I hate that when I can never think of what to say until after the fact.....I just kinda stand there and blink at people while they are yelling at me and accusing me, and about 3 hours later I realize what they were talking about and what I should have said back to them. Why can't these things pop into my head when they can do some good?
