I have a livejournal? It's probably even more insane then most of my posts here. Because at least these generally have a point.

I've left some comments on pages with guys who have some of those girls as friends, so I know they're aware that I'm now on there, but I still have not seen any girl acknowledge my presence on myspace... I still don't think I'll be sending any friend requests to other girls until one or two more send one to me.

Many girls, if not most, will wait for a guy to make the first move, even when the purpose is only online friendship. Just so you know.

My myspace "friends" fall into three categories: real-life friends; bands I like; and people who have contacted me who seemed like they'd be good to know. If the third category doesn't lead to any communication beyond the add, that's okay with me.

My www button is linked to my myspace.

I haven't tried MySpace yet, and I don't know if I want to. I don't think I feel particularly comfortable in having a public website where anyone can know anything about me. It can be quite a dangerous thing, and I don't want a whole bunch of random friends or little kids adding me, if we actually have nothing in common and its just a contest.

All I have is my 'MSN space' because I already use MSN messenger, and people there can just see my little star flashing and click it, so its no seperate URL to find and remember. EVERYONE is blocked from it except for my friends who I feel comfortable talking to, they have a way to get to know me better by reading it. But I felt bad in that I don't think almost anyone ever reads it, so it kind of feels like a waste of time having..... But its more likely for people to see what I'm really going through than my personal journal (and faster to type) so I use it occasionally anyway. I might update it more often, but, maybe atleast MySpace is more popular and more people can become my friend but, I believe in quality of friends and not quantity. On the other hand it would also be really cool to be loved and appreciate by very many people. Maybe I will become famous one day, that might be cool.

My profile is a job in progress at the moment. Feel free to add me but PM me via here as well so I know which WP members are on my friends list.

Actually, there's a way to mark your MySpace as private so nobody except those on your friends list can read it, and you don't have to accept anybody's request if you don't want to. Only some people see it as a contest--for someone like me, it's just an alternative and very convinient way to communicate with people. For someone like me, who's much more comfortable speaking in text rather than verbally, and who has very little social contact in the real world, MySpace is something of a blessing--even if it's taking over the world and is secretly run by Fox. Heh.

Private is actually the default profile setting so you don't have to worry about it at all. All the people you see on there with public profiles had to change the default setting to make it public.

I do indeed have a profile on there and there is a link at the bottom of my posts, I also have very little info about me personal wise, I don't even put my MSN addy up on there so that I can control who adds me, oh and it's very dark and spooky. ^_^

Btw, as I have stated in other discussions I know several women all NTs, less guys, again mostly NTs, on MySpace it's somewhere in the area of 40 friends I talk to most of them but some of them seem to have chaotic lives so sometimes they wont reply or messages wont get sent, the ones that I don't talk to usually don't get messages because I already sent a message and I'm wondering if they're just taking a while to get around to me, I dunno, with some people you talk to them alot for a bit and then they just kind of seem to "drop off the radar" so to speak.

you can generate friends?

Don't bull**** me, I'm betting you have one.

A piece of code that generates friend requests.

If you have been on Myspace for a couple years, friends just tend to accumulate over time, especially since people don't really remove one another as friends even if they stop talking to each other. I had a Myspace account for just a few weeks (I deleted it since I mostly use Facebook instead) and people I didn't even know were adding me because they were curious about something in my profile. Although, 930 friends is certainly approaching the realm of "Myspace whore" (no offense Alex), if you participate actively on the site, join groups, make a fancy profile, etc. you will gain friends fairly quickly.

I was wondering does anyone else here get people who add you on myspace just to advertise and promote their music in the bulletin? It's quite annoying.

Have you been round my house recently? Cause your favourite bands and movies look like the majority of my media collection.

PS cog rule. :D

It doesn't bother me, because I like to find out about new music. That has really become one of the main purposes of myspace - for bands to find an audience.

If I don't like their music, I just deny their friend request.
