Then how come I've never had a gf? Also, almost every guy I know (or know of) who hasn't ever been in a relationship has the same traits-shy, nerdy, socially awkward. Yeah sure some guys like this might get a gf, but it's the exception and not the rule.

It's just triggering the subconscious in order to manipulate people. People do it everyday whether they realize it or not.
