That's pretty stupid, to be frank. :?
For many of us, we were simply labelled "shy", "quiet", or "smart" and left alone.
If one doesn't act over the top weird, or live in an environment where people are overly-concerned with ostracizing others, it simply doesn't happen.

You don't need to act over the top weird- you just need to be different in some sense, or sensitive. I doesn't take much. I also don't know what you mean by overly-concerned with ostracizing, as from what I've seen school kids do it almost automatically. It's not a priority, they just do it. Every environment I've ever been in had bullies or stupid people who were looking for somebody to f*ck with, so I don't identify with a place that doesn't have that element. Before coming on wrong planet, I never knew such schools existed.

Rarely. Most of the time, my peers would recognize the futility in trying to bully me, because I always ignored them. Consequently, they would also ignore me.

I'm actually very good at ignoring people, which is very depressing when you think about it...

Physically: No.
Verbally: Oh God yes.

That sucks you got bullied, but be grateful at least it wasn't physical. If it's an athlete doing the bullying, and you zing them back, it stands a good chance to escalate into a fight.

It's been fifteen years since this junior varsity thug terrorized me after I lost a fight with him, and I still feel my chest tighten with anxiety when I get a scent of the cologne I was wearing the day I stood up to him.

I was bullied so much when I was going through school, I have little to no trust in others. It was bad enough when people around me were bullying me, but what really took the cake was when I was being bullied by people who were supposed to be my friends!

I was (and still am) a quiet person, and I can't stand it when people say "Oh... don't trust the quiet ones. They'll get you." I'm done with school now, and sometimes I run into the people who bullied me. They try to talk to me as if nothing happened, but once you're bullied, you don't forget what you went through and you DON'T want to chit-chat!

I find it hard to believe that there are people that have never been bullied. (That's just my opinion.) :?

I know, right. Especially when someone has aspergers. I'm actually kinda jealous when I see that. How is it I had it incessantly in grade school, and they weren't even once bullied?

I was picked on at school, but i was lucky that the 'hardest' in my year use to defend me saying i was just 'clever' and to leave me alone, most kids then left me alone.

I wasn't bullied. I was told I looked scary though.

Because not everyone is you.

Not everyone has an experience analogous to or even remotely like your own.

It really is that simple.

When i was really young i wasnt bullied so much as i was horrifically tall and intimitading for my age...

Bullied verbally towards the end of primary school... but i didnt really take any of it in...

Going into high school everyone else decided they would grow their bodies to be much taller then mine... there was the one time i was in what was meant to be physically bullied... but it was unfamiliar to me and i remember asking the aggressor if i was getting bullied by him  ... I guess thats not something he was familiar with either because nothing happened...

But otherwise i surfed and skated all the time and i had long sun bleached hair and that was a "cool" thing so i wasnt really bullied much at all... but that didnt change me from being a bit of a loner :o

I don't remember being bullied in any way back in elementary school. But, I have been bullied on occasion in middle school and high school.
