The Sense of humour you are talking about on here have mainly to do with genetic-make up. Most likely have to do with high levels of male hormone in thier system. But the real issue here is that they say it at wrong times too often. I mean, if they are going to crack a joke at a funeral or something worse, it's probably better that they didn't have any sense of humour at all.
and the other reason I can think of is a survival mechanism. they are social creatures so without understanding the jokes, they would be considered social outcast which they consider to be worst thing that can happen to human beings. I personally do not appreciate this particular feature about NTs because it only aggravates me even more. But I do occasionally watch movies that are made for NTs and even some of the comedy flicks.
