I had only one, but I don't have any now, because we are very busy at school and it's very hard to be close friends maintaining only quick talks.

I have a lot of people that ask me to fix their computer and don't pay me, does that count?

I get that too and I am asked to fix their electronics but I am a sucker and keep doing it-I am pathetic.

You can IM, webcam, phone, email, facebook, etc. See all my friends are far away from me now. And IM, emailing and skype is how I keep in contact with people. Yeah being busy can be hard especially when the person is not as willing to contact. That's why I added, #5. Sometimes if your not as close to someone, there seems to be more subtle social rules involved in contacting them, it somehow needs to go with the flow. Whereas with a close friend, you can pretty much contact them whenever and it isn't weird.

None. I know people, sure, but I'm not particularly close to anyone. Whenever someone gets closer than "friendly acquaintance," I always do something to drive them away. It's a lot of work to be my friend. More than anyone seems to be willing to do.

I know three people who I'd consider close friends. The first two are my best friends from high school, and the third person is a girl at my college who I quickly bonded with. I miss my best friends, but they're going to a different college so I can't meet them very often. Me and the other girl I mentioned like to spend a few hours every day talking with each other :)

4 people on Earth would qualify as best friends of mine.

It took a while, but a few shook out of the mix :)

None. When I was in school I always had at least one close friend. I don't make good first impressions and I've been told I come off as cold, so that probably doesn't help. Part of it might just be that I'm absolutely bone tired of seeing that look on people's faces like I'm nuts or from another planet. I don't try as hard any more and I'm not thrown together with people like I was in school. It's harder.

I can't really maintain a friendship and when I do I end up hanging on to them for dear life, I had one really close friendship and It's become really distant and absent and somewhat broken sadly but I will try to keep in contact. It's always been difficult to make friends but 've got one friend who I've known all my life and has stuck by me and I guess he's my only real friend :(

I have one friend (not counting my cats who are more like sons and they're cats by the way I have two cats) we would be close if we saw each other away from work (she's busy during the weekend and I have VERY good reasons to believe her) I don't mind well I would rather we spoke during the weekends but I also wish I could invent there Alcubierre Drive and that won't happen

I've had one for 6 years but recently met another person who is 'wired' the way i am so i currently have two - which i must admit makes me really happy.

Also im guessing close friend because freind/aquaintences just disappear reappear and dont care all that much about them?
