Well, according to that quiz I took whose results are in my sig, I'm indeed about half Aspie and half NT! The NT parts that spring to mind first are good coordination, ability to drive with no problems and some ability to "small-talk." The Aspie parts are quantifying things to a RIDICULOUS degree in my mind (at least ridiculous to a NT), being precise about stuff, finding most gossip boring, and still some holes in knowledge of nonverbal cues/social norms. I was probably more Aspie earlier in my life.

Where do you go to take the quiz to find out how much of an aspie/nt you are?

I've met up with a group of aspies/autistics once and compared to them, I was relatively normal. People who have severe AS have a lot of serious problems that go well beyond being shy or just not talkative. These problems usually require psychiatric treatment.

For me, I can rule out certain traits that people with AS commonly have. For example, they say that people with AS can't read facial expressions/body language. I can read them quite well and I'm a guy (men in general are terrible at reading body language compared to women).

They also say that most people with AS are atheists because they see everything in the literal sense. I'm a devout Catholic and I understand what it means to believe in God and why others do the same.

My biggest problem is I'm the guy who doesn't talk much during group conversations. Like, literally, I could go an entire night at a social event without saying a word. Of course, it all depends on the conditions though and what people I'm with. I also find I'm hit and miss with certain types of people. I don't know if most NT's get along with everyone they work with or associate with, but I find that I can't please everyone. I don't like talking about football or sports in general because they don't interest me, and I'm not one who feels the need to be humorous every second in casual situations.

yeah i can relate to this. I think when you have better social skills, the wider range of people you can get along with at least on the acquaintance level. I found that to be true, as I gained social skills over the years, I can be successfully acquainted with more people. But yeah I'm similar, its a hit or miss. Its hard for me to develop a reasonable repore with a lot people outside of strict exchanges of info in attempts to complete a task. My personality doesn't clique with a lot of people.

I'm not exactly sure, the main aspie trait I exhibit on a regular basis is my tendency to be quiet and reserved.

Yes, that's exactly how I feel! I got a similar aspie/NT score on that quiz. I wish I had saved the results to put in my signature.

I feel like myself.

I have never been anything else, so I have nothing to compare it to.

I have traits of both. I don't really fit in anywhere, strongly. I seem to partially relate to a lot of people, at least.
