I have seen other people on the forum who have said they are JW in the past in other topics. Try searching through old topics in the Religion and Politics forum. You may find some of these posts.

Technically Iam one, though inactive.
Dont think I could go back now what with them having joined the United Nations and covering up Child Molestation.

Even worst, they are disfellowshipping Anointed ones who try and bring new light as apostates!

Thats why they are still stuck with the old rubbish of 1914 and 1919.

Can you imagine the climax of the book of Daniel reffering to an Assembly in Cedar Point Ohio in 1922 and to which most of the attendees are probably now dead, rather than reffering to faithfull ones who survive the 3 1/2 years of the New World Order and surviving Armaggedon?

Daniel 12
11 “And from the time that the constant [feature] has been removed and there has been a placing of the disgusting thing that is causing desolation, there will be one thousand two hundred and ninety days.

12 “Happy is the one who is keeping in expectation and who arrives at the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days!

The beginning of Daniel 12 says,

“And during that time Mi´cha·el will stand up, the great prince who is standing in behalf of the sons of your people. And there will certainly occur a time of distress such as has not been made to occur since there came to be a nation until that time. And during that time your people will escape, every one who is found written down in the book.

So they greatest distress to ever occur to mankind was when a handfull of the Governing Body got put in Jail for 3 1/2 years?, I think not, all those prohpesies centred around 1919 as a great witness to the world that the end had come and that the JWs where Gods people, well, thats all forgotten by the world in general, so it cannot be the great winess the JWs claim, yet they still disfellowship annointed who try and show them they where wrong.

Me thinks Satan has been sowing a few weeds in amongst the wheat.

Having said the above, I would still recommend you stay a JW, what other religion aprt form Judaism and Islam still worships the monolistic God of Abraham and the Bible?

It can get quite lonely doing it alone.

Just dont fall into the trap of viewing the Governing Body as the mediator between God and Men, thats Jesus job, else what happens if they tell you to accept the Mark of the Beast, and here you are, allready beliveing every word they say is from the mouth of Jehovah?

"ASS" really isn't a good abbreviation to use. Sorry.

Not sure how many Jehovah Witnesses get on here. It is worth noting that JW's in general don't trust in modern psychology.

Um, not true? Was raised as one, don't agree with the religon anymore, but am still amazed at the warped misconceptions about the religon.

I grew up as a JW too, and I can tell you straight from the horses mouth that the JW hierarchy discourages you from seeing a shrink or at least talking about congregational matters with a shrink.

Personally, I think the religion is probably not meant for anybody on the spectrum because the religion tends to dissuade questioning and independent research, something aspies tend to do a lot.

BTW, just as a note, according to the Watchtower, you shouldn't even
go on the internet looking for online friends with AS because your real life congregation is supposed to provide "ample association" for you.

Anyway, PM me if you want to talk about this some more. I have a feeling that your "brothers" and "sisters" ignore you because you're "strange". I'll be happy to talk to another aspie with the same upbringing I've had.

Hello how are you, I just registered.

I am a Jehovah's Witness and have a diagnose of Aspergers syndrome.

I am sorry to see many misconceptions and disparaging comments from a group who themselves often are misunderstood and looked down upon.

9-9-2006, I have sent you a PM.

I am still technically a Christian, but I am currently looking into more liberal faiths.

There was a guy who tuned pianos for the company my dad used to work for who was Jehova's Witness and highly functioning autistic.
It is my understanding that they asked him not to return to the meetings because he kept having outbursts or something.
