Yes I think that was racist, and that your friend overreacted a bit. If that's her opinion she still shouldn't stop you from talking to who you want.

It sounds like a possible mental health issue to me. Definately paranoid, and strange that she threatened you for speaking with someone.

1. It seems to be at least mildly Xenophobic, Racist and Paranoid! 8O I only say 'mildly' because it is so far as related, mostly an expression of fear. Perhaps there is more behind it.

But whatever you term it, most all seem to be in agreement that it is a ignorant view to hold, that anyone of a different race or nationality is out to get you.

2. Trying to impose this restriction upon you is definately a attempt at controlling you and inappropriate. It is actually very common, but usually not so obvious.
