Easy solution - Dont participate in something that you're not comfortable with - I have a facebook account but rarely post anything because I've noticed a lot of the comments are just irrelavent, does not concern me & i really dont see the point of haveing a FB account ??

So instead, I've become a member of a forum specializing in something that interests me (including WP) ; & my hobbies interests etc , i.e; mine are model railways & another interest is the subject of underground exploration. - that sort of thing is too specific for facebook.

There are forums on just about any interest or hobby.

Its easier to socialize on forums as its online & so you have time to think what & how well you post your contributions , if you muck up, then theres usually an edit function giving you option to rectify any mistakes.

What are your interests / hobbies ?

Off topic, I know, but where can I find a forum to discuss daily life in the middle ages in Britain and Europe? I'd really enjoy that. I like forums but I rarely find one that has activity and good topics. I wish there was a "Big List O' Forums" somewhere, but there's not.

The main keywords for specific search in this case being ; Middle age - History - Forum , if you add "British" then this can reduce search results to poor , - the results I got were a mix of nations inc Britain.

I'd post a link of one of those forums, but my C&P function is playing up again today, ..., but there was a list of what looked like half a dozen history forums,
