Are you unable to make people laugh

I rely heavily on inside jokes and wordplay or certain words that have proven funny. I don't have difficulty making others laugh, in fact people have told me I am fairly good at it. It takes some experimentation, but a lot of it has to do with the tone of one's voice and outlandish facial expressions. This sort of humor has come to me more naturally I think. In sixth grade I had some success simply by using very formal language words my classmates weren't familiar with.

I have a lot of trouble laughing at the jokes others make, however. I am employed at a grocery store. The area I work in requires minimal social contact as I work in the back of the store. Customers and other workers tell me jokes, and I rarely realize they are joking. They have to explain and it makes me uncomfortable. My mom tells me to give them a courtesy chuckle, but this does not help because I'm not always sure when to give it. I'm not sure how to classify the jokes. I think they are sarcastic in some way but they are told with a different tone of voice than most sarcastic jokes.

Well, people laugh at me all the time, does that count?

Most of my 'funnyness' comes from my outlandish opinions and the way I back them, sometimes I make them absurd on purpose, but with of course a grain of truth. Other stuff that others might funny would be weird observations or my smart alec remarks.

I used to make people laugh all the time but not anymore.

On second thought I can make people, when I firstly say a comment seriously which is funny or secondly I am drunk and people laugh at my antics.

I am unable to make people laugh because I don't bother to!

A:So, it didn't miss the current events.
B: I thought you were a comedian??
A: Oh. So you think you could try to be funnier... huh??
B: Why try to be what I already am.
