I do it at home mostly, or if I'm visiting my relatives, who live out of state, I will make sure I'm alone before I do so. I find it helps work through stuff.

I usually do it when I'm driving, whether or not I'm on my own. I sit and judge the state of the traffic & the ability of the other drivers (not usually positively  ).

I also do it quite a bit when I'm concentrating on something. I usually just make a joke of it if anyone catches me, especially at work - you know, something like "Oh, you know how it is working here - sends you insane". It generally works  .

All the time. Self-assurance. Thoughts are more 'concrete' when spoken out loud - they may be unstructured or lost otherwise.

I speak out loud a lot of the times, if only to assure myself that everything is still real.

I do it all the time. As a kid, my mom found it odd that I would read out loud to myself so I guess it went from there. I do it mostly when I'm studying or doing homework. I guess it helps me think. I also do it when I need to think about certain things and I need to plan out how to do them. So yeah, I do talk out loud to myself.

colonel1fan, you're not alone in that. For me, as a kid, and sometimes now, I'll conjure up someone-usually real or literary-to talk to and imagine their responses. My mom to this day, when she hears me talking to myself will ask me who I'm talking to, I say, "Myself" mostly because I don't want to let her into my mental world.

I watch myself in public and make sure I limit my talking to myself to non-public places, so that people don't mistake my AS for schizophrenia.

Talk to my self? God, yes. I talk to myself a lot and I know that the NT's think that it's weird (they've told me as much) but it helps me filter out all the external stimuli when I'm trying to think. I've been asked if I am bothered that people think I'm wierd but why would I care? If my behaviours help me get what I want done then why would I change?
