I used to go to a movie theatre two or three times a month. Now it's more like two or three times a year. They've gotten so expensive. There was a time when most theatres around here would have discount admission on Tuesdays, or cheap matinees. Now, most of them don't. And there are very few movies I'm willing to pay twelve bucks to see.

They are stinking expensive...it is horrible....it's a viscious cycle I guess...they get more expensive because less people go and less people go because it is more expensive.
etc....etc....etc....

The place I worked for really struggled even though they tried to make it a charming/elegant old fashioned movie-going experience...

I love going to the movie theaters because it is the only way to see a movie, but I don't like going on a movie's first run because there's a lot of people who get annoying especially whenit;s a bunch of five year olds and immature 15 year olds running around.

I have to agree. Going to a movie on its first weekend can often ruin it, especially if its a non r-rated movie because it can often be too packed and filled with annoying teenagers who wont be quiet.

Yeah, for instance, I went to see Elf on it's first week and it was packed with 10 year olds running around.

When I went to go see Night at the Museum at it's first week or so, there was this person a few seats over whose defibulator or what ever was going off ALL throughout the movie, God it got so annoying!

They're uncomfortable, with horrid advertisements, but it's worth it for me--I really love movies, when they're god.

The other day my boyfriend and I went to the cinema down the street and we got our seats and NO ONE came to see this movie besides us, so we had the whole theater full of seats to ourselves!! No crying kids, no tall heads in front of me and no one spoiling the ending! We ate our popcorn in peace.

I only hate it when a) it's crowded or b) there's too many small children and/or babies. Otherwise it's peachy keen with me.

The thing I hate the most even beyond crying babies ( I can't really blame the baby for being a baby--- but I would like to swat the parents for bringing little babies to see rated R movies) are the "heads". These are people who are real tall who look all around the theater for where short people like me are. They then proceed to sit in the seat directly in front of me, even if there are many other open seats elsewhere. I want to dump my popcorn over their heads!

I liked going to see Spider-Man 3 this past Tuesday, as the theatre was not too busy and I got a relative amount of peace while I was watching the movie. Even if the mother with a massive brood of youngsters had to take a couple of them to the loo halfway through the film...

I don't mind going out to the movie theaters but I'm not as hopped up as I was years ago. Movies have got too expensive and eventually the movie you're over paying for will eventually be on DVD, on pay view cable (which is actually less than a theater ticket in many cases) or even on regular TV. Even the food is over priced. I can relate to many of you about the darkness of the movie theater when the movie plays. I have a hard time seeing in those dark theaters. Speaking about the dark, I wear transitions glasses. These glasses have lens that darken in the sunlight. When I go to a dark theater after being outside in the sun my glasses take a while to lighten up as a result it's even harder for me to see, I tend to trip and bump into things while walking.

I might go see The Simpsons myself when it comes out in the theaters but I have to see.

I just got back from seeing Shrek the Third. Which was on my "Maybe" list. But a friend of mine had his birthday today, and a bunch of us got together to go watch it, and I was invited. So I went along.

The movie was better than I expected. (I liked the first two well enough, but I had my doubts that there was enough material for a third movie.)

I like going to movie theaters but I don't like going to many movies which may have too many kids around and where I may have to wait in line before gong in, end up having to break my neck so I can see the screen and hear frickin' cell phones go off. I'll take one back, I had one of mine go off but I turned it off immediately.

Expensive, yes. But I'll go to a matinee or a discount showing if any, or at least the late showing.

I usually wait until the movie winds down and is ready to be taken out of theaters.

One other pet peeve, the air conditioner. It doesn't matter if it is 80 degrees or 100 degrees, it becomes a meat locker once inside those auditoriums. So bad some have to bring a jacket or sweater to the movie even if it is scorching outside.
