I do both also.

Sometimes I can talk for hours and sometimes its a 2 way conversation, but the I find that people/friends who start a random conversation about a particular topic (like religion, UFO's) are starting it because they hear a lot about the subject but do not have any real formulated opinions. When I join in, and if I have a real interest in the subject, I provide real information based on my own research and findings. You could even say I have factual information. BUT... every time I talk with such authority it is met with the rest of the conversation group getting very upset. The last time I had a discussion like this, it annoyed them so much that I was asked to leave their house.

As you can imagine, I was extremely upset and even cried, and this was made worse because I could not understand why I was asked to leave.

In the discussion, which I thought was going very well, they asked me direct queestions and I had an answer every time.

My only conclusion is that these NT people that I considered good friends, hated having thier questions answered and would rather just openly discuss a subject without any intention of considering answers. The questions seemed more important to them than the answers.

I have had friends get upset with me before but this is the 1st time I have been asked to leave a house because I 'talk too much'!

Im over it now and have no intention of ever speaking to them again - but it does make me feel like 'shutting up' more in the future.
