Oh so your boys are coming along in life. Good for your older son for not letting a potential disability define him. It's not the route I took, but still it's cool of him. My son is only 3 months old. He's kooing and giggling as we speak. It's too early to tell, but I suspect he's NT, even though both me and my wife have autism spectrum disorders. It makes me nervous. He may very well end up running circles around us.

That might not mean he's NT though. Apparently I started talking at 2 months(according to my mother) but I'm still on the spectrum. It might take years for signs to manifest.

Well maybe your son has got this autism thing better figured out better than I do. I'm still trying to understand it. So you worked with kids huh? Are you a teacher?

I'm rather a jack of all trades. I teach art and have a degree in it. I also volunteered for years as my son's aide. We homeschool, but he goes to a two day a week charter school so I acted as a volunteer special needs aide for the k-5 classroom. I've also volunteered as a teen counselor, with cub scouts and boy scouts, and worked in daycare. In addition to that I'm a pagan minister, I've worked in construction, and run my own arts and crafts business among other things.

Wow that is a lot. Mind telling me about the last few? I imagine working as a pagan minister or running your own arts and crafts business must be exciting. Oh and I'm not sure if this is helpful at all, but I met friends on the spectrum simply by finding out that existing friends were already on it.

I have found more people on the spectrum now that I know I'm on it, especially if I'm not afraid to mention it. It's just hard to strike up friendships.

The pagan minister one isn't as interesting as it sounds. I've married a couple people, have a yearly ritual at my house, counsel people as it comes up, and helped run a major forum for years. I've written a lot of articles and have even been published internationally.

The arts and crafts thing has been an on and off thing. I ran it for several years working craft shows after my first stint trying to make it as an artist didn't do so well (I have a Bachelor's in Fine Arts and almost a minor in philosophy). Then I put it aside for years and recently restarted it through etsy and attending a few small local shows. I can provide links, but I don't like spamming unrelated sites which is why I suck at marketing....
