Well, since I didn't understand until years later, it wasn't any good for me. Just a reason for me to beat myself up for having been stupid.
But similar things happened a couple of more times, I just wish I had understood it there and then.
I heavily insulted another girl in the US who I believe might have been interested, by joking about her Polish roots. I thought then that I was being funny but I was just mean to her.

i'm still in my late teens (19 as of today) but boy have I done a lot of embarrassing things. One that makes me cringe is when a classmate asked to borrow my calculator. I obliged and he gave it back with Call me maybe written in letters and numbers on it, followed by a phone number. I laughed and erased it because I thought it was a joke, knowing that classmate though, it was probably but I hurt his feelings as he ignored me every day after :oops:

Another was more recent when I noticed one of my classmates was breathing differently, they said no and I went "oh because you are breathing more heavily than normal" ;-;

I also accidentally let slip that I knew a new friends routine from piecing together where I saw them at different time which made me sound like a stalker

When I was 12 I stirred the cup-a-coup I had for lunch at school (as I did everyday) with... my pen. The one I used to write. I did not see anything wrong with it but, yeah, in retrospect that's weird and gross.

I went to a special school for autistics and everyone still thought I was freaking weird.

I used to lick the gravy off my knife and one of the kids on my lunch table would call me a freak for doing it. A nicer kid warned me (in a friendly way) that I might cut my tongue by licking the knife, but I knew what I was doing and I never did cut my tongue. I didn't realise until later on that licking my knife just made me look stupid to most other kids.

But this was when I was about 10, not a teenager. Doing embarrassing things is worse when you're a teenager because other teenagers remember it more. In my last year of school (age 16), I had unshaved legs, unwashed hair and had my trousers pulled up too high, and had no idea that I was going around looking like an idiot who didn't care about appearance. And that is what most of the people I went to school with will always remember me as. :oops:

Just two months before I turned 13, at the very day of my elementary graduation...

I photobombed a faculty group photo.

In front of the entire audience. Consisting of all the staff members, a good half of the school students and their parents.
Acting creepy and out of place behind the teachers and the principal. :lol:

And is now printed forever in someone's albums and one of the past year book. :twisted:

I'd do it again. And I'll do it worse than that.
