There is a men's AS meeting once a month where I live. The people there are alright, but I have only went twice.

I really hate people, but I am a bit of a misanthrope so yeah. Just can't stand to be around humans at all it seems. It is too bad that it is against the law to kill some of them.

Right now, [comparing to X-Men] I am in an Xavier mood, content and hoping for a day of peace among the NT jerks (not all of them). I have had Magneto or even Phoenix moods, but I would fear for many reasons if an Asperger's advocate riveted a crowd with an ending like, "and we are THE CURE". We might as well end up in a computer cult in Jonestown, India and drink tainted Kool-Aid.

Jonestown was in Guyana... but anyway, yeah interaction is frustrating at times, and I'm not sure if it's easier or harder with other aspies. I guess it depends on the situation.

GWAR put on the most entertaining concert ive ever seen.

Im somewhat sick of dealing with people, but lucky for me i have a job as a survey assistant and work with one or sometimes two people on a daily basis. We are usually so busy with work and excerise that there is not time for chatting.
When im not working im in my room or outdoors doing the hobbies and interests that i like alone.
I will on occasion go socialize with co-workers on fridays. i usually don't say anything, just observe. Thats about the extend of my socializing but its enough to keep me happy.

i completely agree, but have you ever considered that all of us trying to interact would be a bit awkward--but i mean it would be great.

Loudmouth I catch your drift, I've engaged in more social interaction this week and its just so soul destroying. people can be so rude, so snappy, I just want a nice home with a dog and forget the rest! It just takes so much effort putting on an act and trying to play along with ignorant people. Maybe i should do a computer degree and migrate to Silicone Valley...

When it comes to people, deal me out topic

The less I have to deal with people, especially at work, the more sure I am about success at my job. :)

I totally agree. I am disgusted with "normal society".

I spent years trying to be “human” because I was told that I am the way I am as a result of [assumed] ‘early childhood neglect’. I thought it was some personal struggled that “I” needed to overcome, only to find out years later that I was born this way, and I am perfectly fine the way I am.

I understand people and their motives in a very scientific way. On a personal level I don’t get them at all. Granted, this isn’t to say that all people are bad. I can deal with them in small doses, and even have a few that I actually feel are worth talking to, but overall I have no desire to be part of society. Especially a society that refuses to accept me as an equally worthwhile person. (Although, I supposed this would require me to accept them as equals, and I am not sure that will ever be possible.)

The best thing I ever did was to isolate myself from others, because I have never been so mentally stable in my life. I refuse to spend the years I have left feeling like some kind of misfit, just because I live amidst those trapped in a Neanderthal mindset.
