I wouldn't recommend it. I didn't find out until I was an adult. I made the mistake of telling a few people, and they ended up treating me differently, even if that wasn't their intention. It feels like they start wearing kid gloves around you rather than accepting your quirks. Even worse, some will talk directly down to you almost if you are a disabled child. I can have a short fuse when stuff like that happens. Unless you are capable of educating people on the truths of autism, I would be guarded in sharing because the stigma associated with it is like someone with an incurable STD, imo.

If they don't already know I have it I'll mention it to people I have AS after I've known them for awhile. They just kind of shrug though. It's not a big deal, just interesting info.
