But still expensive. Could have been worse. The initial count came up to $80 all up. I had to give quite a few books up, and I found a cheaper copy of another (which was On Basilisk Station, as I found originally a copy that was $6, but upon examination of the table, I later found a slightly more tatty copy about $3).

Oh, and on the way back on the train, I read through most of one of them, Blake's 7: Project Avalon, which completes my collection of the Blake's 7 novelisations (but not the novels, of which I got one, Afterlife, but not the other, Avon: A Terrible Aspect). I read the rest back at home, and have reviewed it for my book-reading blog...

Well you have every right to be cynical. Tek Tek on one thread says (can't recall which one) "no intentions" in regards to a Meet up , autistic code :) . Did he coin that quote or has it been around for a while . :?

At the risk of repeating myself if theirs no intention whats the point of turning up :) meh something to do I suppose. :)

I think the level of cynicism displayed by Melbi can only be matched by a high school head mistress asking for volunteers (voluntarily) to pick up papers at lunchtime

Is anyone interested in another meet in a few weeks time? Not sure of times or places yet.

Thanks for the link aussiebloke. Pity the event is already finished. I don't check this thread enough. *smiles*

I think I have made some big mistakes in the meet-ups I have arranged in the past.
They all involved my obsessions to a certain extent.
As such, I was always in two places at once,
half involved and half distracted.

To me, the best meetup we ever had was when we all got together in a little Cafe
and just conversed and chatted! :D
I suggest the same sort of thing.
It is just too tiring trying to do two two things at once!

How about a picnic in a nice shady park?
Not too close to a forest, though, or I'll wander off and and get lost!
  :D

I think picnic is nice, every one bring some food and drink. But I've had bad exprience with picnic as the food usually attract a lot of insects including warsp. Ended up eating in the car LOL

BBQ is nice too, we've got some guys (eg. Mr. syzygyish) here to do the job :D but it's harder to organise as in who brings what. Southbank's nice for BBQ.

Cafe is good. but personally i get bored in there coz I always have to move around due to ADHD.

personally I've always love dining in a nice restaurant and then go somewhere else afterwards. oh...I love bookshop, the huge borders in the city. but I hate the city, too crowded.

I don't mind going shopping :P but the guys would mind...

New farm has a really nice park.

Love museum type of stuff, but we've been there already.

what else is there in Brissy? If it's in Gold Coast than we can go to the beach, or currumbin sancturary (animals ), or strawberry picking!

Actually, I would love to go to Australia Zoo. It's a bit far north, but I don't mind driving as much people as I can. I've actually never been there...always wanted to go...

My vote goes to a BBQ at New Farm Park.

The BBQ's are right on the water, it's nice and relaxing and the more energetic of us (this doesn't include me) could have room to do something or other energetic while the others kick back.

Just out of curiosity, would it be inappropriate if I brought myself a 6-pack if we go the picnic/BBQ option? I'm nervous as hell about this and it makes me a little more chatty and a little less nervous (so long as I only bring a 6-pack, lol).
