A BBQ at New Farm Park sounds good to me. Anyone have any kind of dates in mind? I'm happy with a Saturday or Sunday any weekend, except this coming weekend. Also, are the BBQ's easy to find? I'm not really familiar with New Farm Park... Are there only one set of BBQ's?

blue_bean - do you know when you're coming to Queensland? Will you be in Brisbane or Gold Coast?

When we work out dates, I'll send Michhsta a text and see if she can make it. I know she's not been well lately, but maybe she will have recovered by the time we have the meet. :)

I'll be staying in Brissy at my brother's house in Nudgee, but I'll have my car so a drive to Gold Coast or any surrounding area is no effort at all. I can even give someone a ride if they need it (free courtesy bus/designated driver/whatever). I'm planning to be there mid-october. Looking at the calendar I guess I'll be in Brissy on the 14th, 15th, 16th and the morning of the 17th. I gotta meet my new niece in Bundaberg (who's now 73 hours old!) and I'll spend a few days in Brissy on the way back south. I hope I got enough annual leave from work left 8O.

Don't wait for me for the BBQ though if you think my visit is too far away. I just want to meet all you WP'ers. ALL OF YOU DAMMIT!! !! !!

You'll just have to get your legs tired and walk from Brunswick St Station.

I just looked it up on Translink and you get the train to Fortitude Valley, then a bus that will drop you off in front of the park.

So should we set a date in October then?

Oh and yes, you get a train to Brunswick Street station and catch the 195 bus, which takes you straight there.

Usually I don't like the valley in the daytime so I get off at Central and catch the 195 from there.

There's usually less people on the bus when you get on there too.

Of the books I got at the Bookfest, I mean.

Hi. Just scanning this thread. Considering joining in, although the Exclusion Principle applies. If I say I'll join in, I'll automatically not.

What were the books, please?

I recently attended a book sale at a Co-op Bookshop. I got 7 books for around $4.50 each and I thought that was good. But, yours sounds better. Mine were:

Biomimicry
Meteors
Journalistas (a collection of essays from the last 100 years by female writers, including Eleanor Roosevelt)
Proposal Planning and Writing
A Field Guide to Insects in Australia
The Winds of Change
Cognitive Illusions (this one rocks)

Saturday is better for me. If we're going to new farm park, I would like to bring my puppy as well.

Quatermass, I can drive you there, and if you want to leave early or anything, I'm happy to drive you to the train station. And I'll be ON TIME for sure, if syzygyish is late, he'll be driving himself.

yay blue beany is coming finally :D
