I was thinking about the general monthly catch ups even if the day trip doesn't go ahead. :)

I would be interested in this. I will be moving to Melbourne soon.

Someone needs to actually organise this!

I keep being ignored so someone else do it ;)

What needs to be done? I will come along to anything that is organised once I move there.

We need to agree on a date, time, activity and place. And perhaps my list of people above would need to be contacted to make sure they are aware of the thread.

As for me, I'm only free on weekends. Saturdays are best but I can do Sundays too.

I am no good at taking charge of things but I can help someone else who is in charge if there are things to be done to help organise.

Thanks yellowtamarin for the tip that this thread has had new activity!

I'm usually free on weekends, at least one day per weekend anyway. I'm also usually free in the evenings on weekdays.

Is the CBD the most convenient meeting place for everyone? If it is, we can narrow down the exact location later. When do you move to Melbourne, alessi?

Try to keep it a weekend event.
Is it possible to organize this into a group on facebook?
It would be easier to keep everyone in the loop then.

Is there an organizer for this event?

Not only that, but perhaps if this grows, certain people can meet up in certain groups on certain weekend dates, rather than a large gathering of 50+ people.

Just a suggestion.
I don't know about you guys, but I wouldn't deal with that much information at one meeting. :P

I personally would not be comfortable with that.

Not for this next one as yet...I've organised one or two before so would like others to have a go.

The average number of people to show up to these events so far is 4.75 ;)

Extra information I can give is that these are the activities we have done so far:

Melbourne Zoo
Carlton Gardens picnic with boardgames
Melbourne Aquarium + dumplings + bar
Avalon Airshow

And these are other activities suggested that we haven't done yet:

Mini Golf
Ten Pin Bowling
Bushwalking

I'm out on the bowling but happy with either of the others, and open to more suggestions!

Did you encounter any difficulties with the previous event locations?

What kind of difficulties do you mean? I don't think that any of us who turned up had difficulties (other than finding the right gate at the Zoo but that's no biggy), but I couldn't say for sure...
