I reckon thats a good idea. I to am a northsider and I'm from Enoggera. I attend a support agency at Arana Hills called Siena and there are a few Aspies that attend there doing different activites to achieve the different goals that they have set for themselves we all meet up regularly and go out places. Hand is another support agency that other Aspies goto as well which is at Wilston and I goto a Aspergers Support Group occasionally at Aspergers Services Australia Zillmere. My friend who is also Aspergers goes to a church on the northside that have just formed a Aspergers Syndrome Group and they meet up regularly.

For any Brisbane Women with AS, there is an ASD Women and girls bi-monthly self-help and support group that is being organised through facebook.
Rachael Harris will be there. She is a counsellor specialising in Aspergers and also has Aspergers.

It is free and the next one is on Saturday, November 27 at 11:00am - 4:00pm
at WEST END COMMUNITY HOUSE, 4 Norfolk Road, West End.

There will be a schedule of topics, speakers and social time.

The event was posted on the facebook group Brisbane Asgerger Adults http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=101075841589
I think they want to know numbers, so you'll have to comment or confirm the event on facebook, if you want to come.

Nothing planned, but you can organise one if you like. I think Brundisium and syzygyish would probably be interested, maybe Melbi too...
I tended to PM people when I was organising meets because not everyone checks this thread... As for me, I'm not really sure I'll have the time to attend a meet in December. Really busy.

If it's on January 15, I might come. I'll be in Brisbane anyway for the Lifeline Bookfest.

I'll be up that way around Australia Day sometime to attend a concert. I can come to a meet if a certain someone else doesn't come as well (they threatened to shoot me).

Saturday January the 15th would work fine for me. I could do any weekend, at this stage, except for the 29th and 30th of January...

I must have missed that... I'm not quite sure who you're talking about?

Australia Day is on Wednesday the 26th. Unfortunately, I don't think a mid-week meet-up would work for me, but if you're around for the 29th of January there is a women and girls ASD meet-up in West End. I can give you details if you're interested. I've been to one already and they're quite good. Good turn out.

Assuming you are referring to Queensland, Australia, I have holidayed here recently. Although this does not class me as eligible to enter your group, I wish to take this as a chance to proclaim my very positive feelings for the Gold Coast, and the politeness of its citizens.

Okie dokie, I think we have enough interested aspies to organise a date, time and place. Suggestions?

I am in contact with Brundisium and syzygyish through mobile text message and they have also said they might be interested.

melbi - here is the facebook group where the ASD Brisbane Women and Girls meet-ups are being organised - http://www.facebook.com/pages/Au-Some-W ... 6830352181

Next meet-up is on 29th January 2011. There will be guest speakers and also time to chat.

Meetings are being held bi-monthly at the West End Community House, 4 Norfolk Road, West End. (In some maps it is described as South Brisbane.)
