Well, I've decided to be brave and put myself in this thread...at worst, nothing will come of it!

So, I'm a bit immature for 37, my real life friends are almost all 10 yrs younger and assume i'm the same age as them. (I guess this is a compliment, I don't have age issues TBH), female, straight (not that I care about anyones orientation) live in West Yorks, England, officially have aspergers, am reasonably fashionable in an ex-skater kind of way...

Interests...well I'm doing Pharmacology and Biotechnology masters, (geek that I am, I enjoy it!), like a lot of varied music and care about it a LOT, from Minor Threat to Iration Steppas, via a lot of other genres (favourite bands at mo Quicksand/Rival Schools, The Gutter Twins, Clutch, UNKLE...) try to see live bands as much as possible... TV -like the Big Bang Theory, Father Ted, Black Books....errrr I read to relax, re-reading Jasper FForde (I've done the old classics, modern classics and cult writers and now reserve the right to read dumb books that make me laugh), interested in art, particularly the slightly grotesque- Beardsley, Goya etc, and have a Tim Burton/Edward Gorey sense of humour, wthout doing a load of self pity or angst

And I make an excellent pen pal, I always reply. Mainly because I love getting emails and letters. So hopefully the inbox at the top will not remain empty.....

Actually, I am having savant syndrome. It is very tough for me to interact with the society but I had adopted this in a virtual way. My memory power is very weak in many of the cases, so I have to make database for my everyday routine life. :?:
I am thankful towards the god for giving me such a wonderful gift. :D
Thanks :D

I thought that was me who posted when I saw the avatar! Can't you be jerry instead?? :P

I think I'll get in on this :D

My real name is Stephen, I'm 23, from Melbourne (eastern suburbs), Australia. anybody else here from down my way?
I've just finished uni - studied writing, and now work as a Records Officer (go figure). So as I move away from uni and the student collective, and into working life, I would like to expand my friendship circle. I definitely have what people may call 'geeky' and 'nice guy' traits, and am a bit shy socially for obvious reasons. Some of my interests are V8 Supercars, Motorsport, Music, Movies, AFL Football,Video Games (old school and indie) History, Trivia, Cooking, Comedy/Humour, and Origami

Would love to get to know some aspie's from round my local area, and also open to making friends the world over. If anyone knows of some aspie get togethers/meet ups, send me a msg and I'll see if I can make it. It will be good to get to know some people in the real world that know what I'm going through, and I'll happily empathise/sympathise in return. To be honest, I'm getting a little annoyed :x with normal people (are those who you call 'NT's :?: ' I've seen that term used a bit around the forums...) who will nod and pretend to understand when I explain Asperger's to them, and then stare in bewilderment or react negatively to my aspie behaviour. But I digress...

Also on facebook, PM me for contact details
Cheerio

I'd be happy to get on board this train.

My name is Caitlin, I'm 19, and I love you.

I live in Colorado, in the springs. If there is anyone on here around the area, feel free to let me know if you want to meet up, get some coffee, or whatever. I've been here for 10 weeks and I still have no friends. *GREAT JOB*

I have a passion for philosophy, and my hobbies include reading, writing, photography, and smoking cigarettes. Yes, I am shy, quiet, and reserved. I am also outgoing, adventurous, and love adrenaline rushes. Even with adrenaline, I find that everything else finds a way to move even faster. I love it.

If you have a facebook I can mos' def' add you. PM me for details! Please, don't be shy. I am cool with everyone 8)

Hum, i noticed checking the Frapper map that there's not much people from quebec here, but i'll shoot anyway.

Name's Philippe (Phil for short), i'm currently 22 years old and obviously a male (with such a name i'd better be) and as stated above, i'm from quebec, Montreal (Canada for those who never heard ^^; ).

Uhh, i enjoy video games of most genres, just not FPS, it's often too bloody or realistic for my taste... I do like movies, haven't seen any new ones recently... I read some mangas (only watch Bleach as anime).

Currently studying bio anthropology at University Of Montreal, but i can easily be interested in biology and various other stuff related to sciences. I also like to taste good food (there's just a limited of food that upsets my stomach.... Still trying to find ways of understanding that).

I don't mind talking with anyone who'll talk with me, be it a guy, a girl or even a kid (i usually get somewhat well with most people...)

Hum, dunno what else to say currently so i'll leave it at that... =/

Hello, I am a 37 year (young) male. You can call me Del.

I have several college degrees, 4 children, married for over 16 years and currently seperated, soon to be single again. Those that know me well say I could be considered a polymath... I am a diagnosed Autistic and ADHD in mid July of 1976. Although being non-verbal, I was already reading at the age of 4. I tested between 144 to 168 on several IQ tests throughout my childhood. In a nutshell, knowing all sorts of things only goes so far but what is more important is the application of waht you do know and the ability to use it. For wisdom exceeds knowledge... I have taught myself sociology and psychology in order to improve my ability to communicate and to exceed my initial abilities of communication.

A lot of times I am like 2 or 3 people co-existing within my own conciousness. I am acutely aware of my emotional state which is seperate from my logical mind and both seperate grom my core being yet all three intertwined... Sounds a bit crazy but spend ~20 years examining yourself in great detail and the mind becomes much more interesting in the attempt to understand yourself.

I am interested in many things but the underlying thread is the attainment of knowledge which is a mild obcession along with looking at road maps, a ti-85 calculator in my coat pocket and other mild obsessive things. I am also fascinated by the sociological interactions of people in different enviroments. I can sit in a mall and watch people for hours but I need to sip on a coffee the whole time (mild obsession)...

My interest and abilities covers most things. I love to talk to women... and I respect bluntness, openness and tell it like it is! something which occures more with aspies/auties than with the NT population...

Hi I am a 40-ish Western Canadian woman, married, interested in talking to other women about: books, art, history, current social and political topics, architecture, gardening, birdwatching, and movies.

Okay I mean anyone, no rudeness intended, my small social circle could use some growth and variety. Force of habit and all that, but I am open to some change. Mea culpa.

My name is Janiece and I am19 yrs old with atypical autism and synesthesia. Loud, high pitched sounds hurt my ears, and I have obsessive interest. My iq is 130. I am a college senior. Got diagnosed when I was 16. Have a hard time reading gestures and facial expressions. I taste sounds and smell numbers (hence the synesthesia).

Hi all, 20 year old male college student here. I am in the process of switching majors from Exercise Science to Pre-Medical. Recently I have found myself drifting further apart from people I used to be friends with earlier in my college career and I fear that most of the people I see regularly now will disappear once we no longer have classes together. So here I am, trying to befriend some fellow aspie-types on WrongPlanet. I should mention that I do not have an official diagnosis, but regardless I feel a strong kinship to those who have AS.

Some of my hobbies are studying, gaming, reading, research, and watching TV (The Office, How I Met Your Mother, Arrested Development, Heroes, etc). My main goal for the next few years is to get into a dual degree MD/PhD program and do research on applications of nanotechnology to physiology/medicine (but as I always say, we'll see where I end up). I enjoy listening to people who are passionate about what they are talking/writing about.

PM me if you like. I hope to hear from some people. :D

HI I'm Albert 26 I live still at home in NJ just outside Philadelphia(its either that or move out on my own and not survive for long and move back)and I am Definetly looking for male and female friends that atleast share similar interests (or something that I may find interesting im actually open to trying something new to see if I may like it). Well female wise id like to find a girl thats more into the same stuff im into that maybe I could be more then friends and make it more a relationship (ill get into that later) Guy wise pretty much the same since I am a Gamer (not just sports I find they bore my afterawhile unless im actually competeing against a person), an Otaku (somewhat minus the skills to learn the language), was into Pro Wrestling until the scene kinda dried up, I love movies especially anything Jackie Chan (minus voice overs if I can), im an avid Comic and novel reader also stuff Like LOTR, Children of Hurin, Lost Tales of Middle Earth, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, anything Edger Allen Poe

I'v not noticed I had AS when I was younger but I really dont remember since my memory isnt all that great but I do remember actually having friends and I miss those days greatly and rue my inability to wana stay in contact with people maybe its because I feel that they realize I act odd or outofsorts they will automatically alienate me but still I try I moved up to going to an arcade in philly with other ppl at a VG store I frequent and sometimes on my own and actually talk to ppl there (guess thats a big step in the right direction).
