It's just these quick passerby conversation I always mess up. I can't think quickly enough to respond. They don't stop walking to talk, they just keep going. Lately I've been trying to make direct eye contact (which can be difficult sometimes) and smile. That seems to work.
It's great that you're working on the eye contact. Keep up the good work!
