Hmm, there may then be a social use for the enraged bachelor. (Unless that also counts as enthusiasm gone bad) Some, historically, have been needed to serve the community as soldiers. Less drastically, I've twice backed up protests at work by resigning very publically over ethical practice. But as a single, I have greater freedom to do so.

"Here I stand, I can do no other" is just one example of the admittedly minority stance, but while that produces heroes, martyrs, and dedicated campaigners, it also produce wars and persecutions out of fanatical idealism.

Personally, I am more interested in forging healthier cooperation, and steering clear of dysfunctional soul destroying structured environments. But I find even that very discussion of such daunting responsibility can be like pulling teeth!
