I love them as long as no one says cheesy things.

I like Christmas and Birthdays, but that's it. Everyone goes insane over New Year, I don't see what's so big about it.

On Christmas before and after dinner is a great time to update Grandma's anti-virus program and other odd jobs I can come up with, Birthdays have got to be the worst though, I just want to hide for the day. When I receive gifts I tend to have no reaction at all, I have learned to sit in a dark consealed corner when its time to open Christmas gifts.

I only enjoy celebrations with my friends because we obviously have similiar preferences (small bars or cafés, or meeting at someone's place to play board games), but my extended family provides with too much drama for my taste.

When I graduated from college my parents wanted to invite our extended family for the party (I didn't even want to have a party). I told them I didn't feel too much affection for those people because I don't really know them at all, only get to see them once or twice a year. My parents were outraged.

Yes. I enjoy most celebrations. Christmas is my favorite holiday. Although I enjoy my birthday because of the cake and presents, I don't like it when people sing Happy Birthday to me mainly because I'm the center of attention. When people sing, all eyes are on you and it feels so awkward because you don't know what to do. When people sing happy birthday to me, I feel shy and embarrassed  but also kinda happy at the same time :D . I don't know. I'm weird LOL

I identify a lot with the above statement save for one gathering a year with a group of five or less.

I only like celebrations if there is good food and wine involved - and only if I don't have to pay for them. :D

Celebrations are exhausting for me personally. Unless I know everyone there and am comfortable with them, I am already counting down the minutes until I can be alone and away from people lol. Not too say that there aren't events in the past that I didn't enjoy, but they tend to be few and far between.

I did as a kid and teenager. I don’t now, I would rather be at home with a book.

I'm just wondering, do you like celebrations? I don't like celebrations, any kind. Birthdays, Christmas, New Year's, Valentine, just name it. I always feel awkward when it happens. I don't understand why people make it such a big deal. I even don't like saying goodbyes. I always feel awkward, I want people to act "normal" when these things happen. Does anyone feel this way? I would like to hear anything so that I know I'm not the only one.

I like New Year's better than Christmas because it's more laid back and you can relax whereas Christmas has this heavy feel to it. In fact, I threw an 80's themed New Year's party and 98% of my guests were on the spectrum and we had a bast together.
