I talk to myself all the time...it is generally okay but sometimes when I talk to inatimate (sp?) objects...I get into trouble...especially when I argue with them. Also, I have a tendency to sometimes get in arguements with body parts...like my stomach will be hurting and I'll try to calm it down, then get mad at it, then try to make bargains with it...yeah...

I have been known to talk to myself a lot, just about random stuff. Sometimes I do it in public, only if there's nobody else around.

More times then I'd like to admit.

I talk to myself alright...I was just doing it a minute ago. Usually it's like roleplaying-I pretend like I'm talking to somebody or people...like when I was reading some book by Mary Downing Hahn I pretended like I was talking to Brynn and I was the girl because I haddd to act this one daydream I was thinking in my head out. It's pretty scary when I talk to myself. My grandma caught me talking to myself once. She asked me if I was okay...I tell people that I talk to myself and they say yeah I talk to myself too and I say no when I do it's scary and they say yeah I talk to myself a LOT but seriously when i talk to myself it's pretty weird....and sometimes I talk to myself when I'm mad. It's a way of expressing my thoughts and fantasies I guess. Sometimes I pretend my boyfriend is there and I'm talking to him, about something. Usually stuff I wanted to talk to him about it but couldn't at the moment because well he wasn't there. Sometimes I even forget that I'm talking to myself......that happens a lot when I talk to myself about how weird it is that I talk to myself then I think "I'm doing it again right now! I have to stop!" If somebody EVER caught me talking to myself I'd almost literally die of embarassment.

I don't talk to myself much unless I'm reciting/practicing something that I'm going to say to another person the next day etc.

Wow. You're my long-lost sister, I'll bet.

All the time! Sometimes out loud, but always ongoing in my brain (my mom calls it my monkey brain-it never shuts off). Also, I have had imaginary conversations with people that later on I can't remember if they were real or not. Often someone will say something early in a conversation with me that I will follow off into an internal dialogue or visualisation and I miss the rest of the conversation. On the plus side, the conversation in my head is usually hilarious!

Not out loud, but I enjoy having conversations inside my head. All the time, in fact.

i talk to myself . i have conversations i'd like to have instead of the ones i do . I also talk myself through problems. But I think this might be something that N.T's also do also people who are socially isolated talk to themselves. i found this happens less when i am not in social situations with people who exhibit some hostility but increases when I am

Yeah, and it can be embarrassing. Depending on what's being talked about. This contributed to some social phobia I experienced a while back. I'd find people looking at me and discover I had been talking to myself about random and often situationally inappropriate topics.
I lapse into this while driving all the time, and sometimes while walking. Since 90% of my driving is alone, I just do it. Problem is when I have to drive someone

When I'm in the street, I don't worry though. Thank goodness for inconspicuous Bluetooth headphones that made it acceptable to talk to yourself on the street, this way you can just pass it off as a phone call :D
