I always remind my close friends, as we usually have a get together (usually dinner) around then to celebrate. I avoid going to chain restaurants during the celebration...but if I have to, no one in my group ever mentions it's my birthday. I hate the stupid clapping and singing thing they do. It's pointless and embarrassing! Plus, you get a stupid little cupcake with a candle. Why would I have that when I can just treat myself to cheesecake? ![Razz :P](./images/smilies/icon_razz.gif)

Given a “tentative” diagnosis as a child as I needed services at school for what was later correctly discovered to be a major anxiety disorder.
This misdiagnosis caused me significant stress, which lessened upon finding out the truth about myself from my current and past long-term therapists - that I am an anxious and highly sensitive person but do not have an autism spectrum disorder.
My diagnoses - social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
I’m no longer involved with the ASD world.
