The only people I can make eye contact with are my kids. Sometimes I can with my husband as well. Other than that, if I have to, I look at other facial features.

I try to focus on just one of their eyes, and not move my eyes around too much, looking at other parts of their face. I think I've gotten better at it, but I'm not sure how natural it looks to others when I talk to them. I occasionally look away, or it will be too intense. None of this comes naturally and I have to consciously consider what I'm doing. When I talk I usually don't look at people too much, and gesticulate a lot, maybe too much sometimes.

Depends on who I'm talking to and how I'm feeling too of course, sometimes eye contact is difficult and I just want to get the conversation over with.

I make eye contact, but only briefly. Sometimes when someone thinks I'm making eye contact with them, I'm actually looking at something else other than their eyes. Hair, for example..

It's hit and miss for me too. I'm wondering if I've creeped out a woman at work, we make eye contact whenever we're in each others line of sight and a few times I've given a closed lipped smile but she never smiles at me at all, it's more of a vacant expression bordering on a dirty look.

My eye contact issues make me laugh.

When in groups, I'm not entirely sure how to 'share eye contact' when I'm speaking to more than one person.

When talking to a single person, I like to stare straight into them and hold their eye contact for as long as the conversation holds my interest. This makes some people squirm, others seem to not be intimidated by it. I sometimes find myself consciously aware that I'm not holding proper eye contact and instead I'm just looking at their eyes, shifting my attention from eye to eye.

If I find myself talking to someone I don't particularly like or I feel they're wasting my time somehow, I stare at their eyebrows instead. Eye contact is earned.

Fortunately, none of the above make me feel uncomfortable.

I'm fine with doing it now, but sometimes if I'm in a long and serious or dramatic conversation it does make me want to look away for a bit.

I have a glib stare apparently, or some people have said I have a death stare.

Either way I am very self conscious about it.

I have trained myself to appear as if i'm making eye contact but in reality, i'm looking behind them with the corner of my eye.
