I can SO relate, no one could even consieve how frustrating it is to live for us, they would never understand even if they were informed about it. My parents seem to understand more than they used to but they are still very ignorent in many other ways.. All it does is make things worse.. But then what is there to do about it? Basically nothing imo..

That's why I feel very sorry for you.

But why? I don't believe, that it is impossible to find some interesting activity and people inside your town. Mudboy have supposed some probable and reasonable variants.

Probably, your parents even non guessing that you need special explanations about usual social situations. It is reasonable not to wait their "guessure" but directly ask about learning some social skills and explain some "natural" (for NT) things. Try to speak with your parents frankly about your problems connected with AS (may be they are trying to help but don't know how).

May be my opinion is strange, but it is not too bad: it means that you are looking not too 'strange', 'weird' or 'fallen from the Moon' and have a good chance to become more adapted.

I'm 16. Not 17. And when I'm 18, I'll still be living at home.

Yes. It might be difficult to do it for a living, but that's what day jobs are for. What type of art are you interested in?

Drawing.

I draw sometimes, too. It's a great hobby, fairly cheap, creative, good for your fine motor skills (this is why I originally took it up), etc. I usually copy either paintings or engravings (from books) that I like, though I have drawn live models (pretty hard, especially if it's a race against the clock). What type of drawing do you do?
