I love jewelery! It sparkles, shines, and I have a ton of it...my personality is in my jewelry, not my clothes.
I like to look at bright colors and patterns, but I end up wearing plain items, or funky t-shirts that reflect various travels.
At work I wear a lot of black, it shows less ink stains.
I will shower if husband is home or I have house guests, but I generally will go 2-3 days when I'm alone. I can't style hair to save my life, and the thought of makeup will put me into hysterics...thank goodness my husband thinks makeup is horrible and absolutely can't stand it.
Perfume is a matter of need: sometimes I like the antiseptic quality of lavender, or I want the sweetness of roses, or some orange to wake me up...perfume and jewelry have a talimanic quality for me.
I prefer my weight to be higher, if you have a fat burqua, people look at your face, not your bust, and its easier for men at work to view me as one of the guys.

I don't wish to be a cookie-cutter of my female peers, wearing tight hoodies, with my boobs hanging out.

I care about my appearance, I just don't care what anyone else thinks. I don't wear certain things just because "everyone else" is. If I don't like something, I won't wear it no matter who wears it. I know a lot of women like men that wear whatever is in style but that is not me and I think you should be yourself instead of trying to be something you're not. I look however I want to and let the chips fall where they may. If they like me for how I look, fine. If not, oh well.

However, I do admit I may be a bit too independent for my own good.

I have very little interest in clothing or outward appearance, but unfortunately others do. I'm very sensitive to the way others treat me, and when I look scruffy people treat me poorly, and I don't like it. So to avoid being treated like an ax killer I try to dress well, just to maintain some level of respect from others.

Ha, I didn't really care throughout High School and then I started showering more than every other day. Lately I've been extremely direct in asking my best friend what she thinks I should do and how I'm improving. So far everything is going well such as an actual cologne, listerine (ug, stuff burns my mouth but damn does it feel clean!). Only real problem is something to do with either the stuff used to wash my clothes or the washing machine leaves a smell thats hard to describe that is unpleasant like mold. Gotta figure that one out somehow.

In High School I was fat, pimply and flat out didn't care because I had no reason to. With 77lbs lost I get small amounts of attention here and there so I figure if I bend over a bit I might see results, or at least I hope so. On the one hand you shouldn't have to, but on the other who wants a stinky, greasy person to be with?

Next up, a haircut, apparently women don't like guys with long hair.

I try to take good care of myself and dress nicely (although I tend to choose clothes I've seen Candida Doyle wearing, which probably makes me look unfashionable, but I think I look nice!). I have a very strong sense of smell and I need to shower and use nice-smelling (to me--I use a combination of pomegranate shampoo and strawberry conditioner) body products so that I don't have to smell my skin smell. I use acne medication on my face and obsess about being "fat" but it's my own personal standards that I attempt to appease, not anybody else's. So I guess i take care of myself, and i care about my appearance, but i don't care about other people's reactions to my appearance. Does that make sense?

I just usually don't have any reason to care. The only times I care are when a) I have a girlfriend or b) I have a job interview.
Neither of which happens too often. I haven't even shaved in a couple weeks.

Me too! There are certain looks that I don't like to wear as much, but I put a lot of effort in paying attention to proportions and colors. I'm always well-dressed, people will often ask me if I'm going out to a nice restauraunt or something.

Honestly, if I dress well I feel better, and I have greater self-confidence.

I always forget to do my laundry though, and will wear certain items of clothing a few times before washing them (only to a certain extent though - with pants, and if I only wear a shirt for a few hours). Frebreze is my best friend. Does anyone else do this?

Most of the time, I do not care about my appearance. I wear no make up to work and don't style my hair. Although I'm definately clean and don't smell, it might take you a little while to work out if I was a boy or a girl.

Ouch... That's me ...
Many times I'v been mistaken as a boy

I take great pride in my appearance and have great hygiene, as well.

I care about my appearance. Trends aren't important to me, but I like to look my best. I didn't used to care - a couple years ago I had a shapeless haircut, no makeup, and unflattering plain clothes. I decided to wear makeup and nicer clothes in the hope that a new look would make it easier for me to talk to people. It didn't work, but I have higher self-esteem now.

I usually shower every day, but for clothes, while I dont care much for trends, I like to dress in an alternate yet unique style.

When I was younger, I didn't care about my appearance/hygiene at all. My parents had to force me to shower every day and to put on clean clothes.

I'm 15 now, and for the last few years, mostly because of peer-pressure and trying not to be weird, I shower every day, get stylish haircuts and wear popular brand names. When I'm just hanging around the house, I don't care what I look like at all, but at school, and when I'm out, I try to look good.

I dress alright, and try to keep fairly clean, because I know it affects how people perceive me. If I'm just going out into town on my own, though, or if I'm not going out at all, I don't really care. I can happily go a week without showering if I'm not doing anything in particular at the time.
