I did in high school but I've come to the sad conclusion when I still thought we were best friends she had no interest in me. Painful lesson: if you do all the initiating in a relationship the other person doesn't really want to be your friend.

I thought I had a best friend up to 10 minutes ago.

And the thing is the very reason they went off at me was the same reason I struggled to tolerate them. I said I few comments that were taken too seriously and this is a person that must verbally talk crap about everything and everyone every 2 minutes. And that is not far off the truth.
I just can't do it anymore. I have much more meaningful conversations with my cat.

I used to think the girl across my street is my best friend. Now that I think about it, I can't tell her much. The two girls from my old school were my closest friends then, but now that's changed. Now, it's my only two friends at school. One of them, I'm not her best friend; she has one outside of school. As for the other, I can never be sure...

I've been the best friend of some people. Sometimes I don't feel as if I'm actually their best friend, more a last resort. I've never really felt like anyone's "best" friend.

i havent known what a "friend" is since early high school. ever since then, its been just random temporary people. i honestly dont believe adult men know how to be friends, it seems to be some type of you scratch my back and i'll scratch yours type of deal. and now with the new generation glued to their f*****g facebook/youtube/1000 texts a f*****g day, no one has time to be friends and everyone is now too f*****g busy that they have to talk to themselves out in public (i.e the f*****g assclowns with the bluetooth earpiece who cant for one f*****g minute talk to a human being standing infront of them). adult yuppie middle age middle class black white latino men and women as*holes talking worthless BS with their friends via f*****g bluetooth and they dont have the god damn courtesy to talk as a humble, non self-centered human being. great job, adults, you are leading the way and turning the young generation into self-centered, robotic sociopathic overrated dipshits. our ancestors must be so f*****g proud. i bet f*****g not.

but back to the main subject, i always wonder what the f**k is a friend.

No, I do not think that I am the best friend of anyone, which is depressing.

I have a best friend who I've known for 5 years. I know he considers me a very close friend, but I don't know if I am his best friend, especially as he has a few friends who he has known for 20 years.

I have friends but I'm not sure they are real friends.I haven't talked about asperger with them. And I don't think I'm someone's best friend now.
Honestly,I think most people don't have real friends so I think they don't have best friends in real meaning.
