My name is Cassie I'm twenty years old I live in Massachusetts. I was diagnosed and known about having aspergers syndrome since I was 14. I'm going to college for general studies so I can get an idea of what I want to do. I have a few ideas but none really click for me as of yet. I love horror movies my favorites are mostly b-rated and 80's-90s. Foreign horror films are fantastic. Most of the time if I'm not watching a horror movie I'm either doing something on Tumblr or roleplaying. I'd like to become better in writing I used to write a lot but recently I only stick to rolelplaying now. For music I generally like anything but my favorite genera is alternative and rock. I love to be artistic and used to spend my time doing zentangles or drawing in general. I gave that up for a while after being exhausted from doing so much drawing I didn't want to do before graduating high school. I always say I'd like to try again. Another thing I like to do is play video games my favorite systems being Game Cube, PS2, PS3, and I do enjoy a few titles on the 3D's.

I don't mind just listening to people but the problem is I'm scared to death of making new friends. I've had some issues from the past that have held me back. Every time I try to get close to some one I back away because I'm afraid I'll screw things up or make myself look stupid. Or think that they aren't interested in what I have to say. I'm looking for a person who keep trying to keep me and as long as they will I will be a good friend.

Female, 40 yrs. old, VT.
Indoors-y introverted night person who doesn't drive & has no cell phone.
Makes meeting new people a pretty challenging a prospect.

Am a "cat person", though haven't any cats/pets.
Social sciences fascinate me, as do the connections between the mundane/corporeal and the clinical/analytical.
Divorced atheist, childfree by choice, and I'm on SSI (due to Asperger's).

Female, 30
Brisbane, Australia

University of Queensland - Studies: Physics, with interest in Quantum Gravity

Interests: Vedic Philosophy (indepth knowledge), and general knowledge of Western Philosophy, loves Yoga, Vegetarianism & Social Activism.

Activities: Skateboarding, Kiteboarding, sometimes surfing and snowboarding, camping. I enjoy cultural activities such as Art Gallery exhibitions, and I go to QPAC for the String Quartet a lot. I love a very specific class of EDM - Electro-Psy-Trance; 132+bpm, hard hitting base lines with trancelike non-vocal leads. I mix using Ableton, fiddle around with my Technic's when I'm not engrossed in Physics... which is most of the time. LOL

Like most Aspies - I struggle to maintain friendships - though I quite easily make friends, I find it exhausting.

Would love to meet other like-minded for email/FB chat. :)

I am interested in these too. When I was younger I was interested in Buddhism. The state has put a diagnoisis on me in 2010 and just now I started jogging and i am trying to gain basic strength and evolve later. I could appreciate a chat friend whom I could study with.

Also Charkras and Yoga is very appealing for me now. I am maybe gonne learn the, "sol hilsen" - "sun salute".

Your probably gonna be busy, but my inbox is open. Drop by anytime and we could talk on a regular basis. Maybe ;).

Hi,

My name is Rick, I am almost 24 and live in the Netherlands. I work as a software developer (both professionally and as a hobby). Currently I'm still living with parents, my younger brother and all the pets (we have plenty!), but I do plan on moving out... eventually. I'm a good listener and generally a helpful guy. I'm looking for some online friends to talk to and to practise holding conversations with. Preferably someone with similar interests as that'd make talking easier, but I'll try talking with anyone.

My interests include (but are not limited to):
- watching various TV-series (the usual comedy series, and things like The walking dead and Criminal minds to name a few),
- watching any good thriller/horror-ish movie (like Rose Red, the Road, the Grudge etc.),
- programming (PHP, Java, C# etc.),
- following (tech) news,
- following politics (specifically in regards to civil rights in the digital age),
- playing some games (FPS, some RPG, puzzle-ish games (i.e. Portal), stategy, anything really).

We can start of by just PM-ing for a while and perhaps later move to Skype or whatever IM software you want to use just as long as it's not Facebook. I prefer to stick to text based communication (chatting and e-mailing etc.), though.

Send me a PM if you're interested.

Hi, im a 27 year old male from California. I was never really interested in people as a kid because they never showed much interest in me. To occupy my time I became a hardcore gamer and mediocre computer nerd. I've tried talking to some people in person several times but they always seem disinterested or weirded out so I've pretty much given up. I actually searched google about that and wound up on this site. Its funny that im able to chat much more easily on a computer, which shouldn't be surprising at all seeing as I've spent a majority of my life on them rather than dealing with people. If anyone wants to discuss computers, gaming or programming feel free to message me. Im not as weird or dressing, I was just overtinking my current predicament lol.

Hi there! I'm from California too, is it OK I befriend you? You sound like someone that need a friend. I would be happy to help.

Wow, I wonder if anyone still reads throw huge threads like this one - but just in case:

I'm Lisa, 18 years old, and just started studying at university (scandinavian studies & philosophy - partly because both interest me, partly because I just didn't know what else to do.)

I'm from Munich, Germany, but I doubt I will ever find anyone on here who shares my location - not even sure there is someone - so I'd be content to chat a bit with who ever would like to, no matter where you're from.

Supposedly this is the point where I should list some things I like, so here we go.
I like movies and have been considering to try and become a director; in fact, I might still do that at some point.
I like writing, and special-effects/fantasy kind of makeup, which I often try on myself, because slamming paint on your face can be strangely fun and relieving. http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2012/ ... 5m1jyd.jpg
Examples for movies I like are the lotr films, Amèlie, Memento, Nausicaa, the Dark Knight Trilogy, and many many more.

I also love literature, especially fantasy novels like the Name of the Wind.
And video games, especially the Legend of Zelda and Minecraft.. I don't really play much else, since many games stress me, and even though I like being able to wander around freely and explore the world in a game, I also have a tendency to get lost.
In Skyrim, for instance, I could never find my way around.

And if those things weren't ordinary & cliché enough, don't you worry, I'm about to talk about music!
I'm trying to be open minded about different genres of music, and art in general,
but in the end, I definitly acoutic/alternative/folk music the most.
My favourite artists are Moddi and Laura Marling, if you care to look them up.
I make a tiny bit of music myself, only I'm not a great songwriter most of the time; but I did write a decent non-judgemental song about a serial killer once - it's not as strange as it sounds, I promise.

Oh, and I also have a slight obsession with snakes, they're the most fascinating creatures I know.
And I love psychology; who doesn't. I started getting into it when I was 11 or 12 because I wanted to find out what's 'wrong' with me, but never stopped researching when I found out. I can't not think about psychology.

The character traits I value most in someone are honesty and intelligence - mostly the first one, especially when it's unexpected.

Ok, this is already too much information for anyone who doesn't know me to read through,
but it won't do any harm either, so I'll post it either way.

Have a nice day!

22, female, MN US

I’m more reserved than most people, especially women, but I don’t consider myself shy or even necessarily quiet. I have quite a few criticisms of my own personality, so it was surprising in the past to hear that most people I know think of me as friendly and helpful. I know how it feels to be talked over, ignored, or not cared about, so I’ve tried to develop my social skills enough to not make people feel that way with me.

I'm a curious person and have a wide range of interests, most of which are solitary and cover areas of science, technology, or creative pursuits. I like some television such as Doctor Who and The Walking Dead, and still enjoy many childhood things such as Pokemon. I'm also participating in NaNoWriMo this year.

AFAIK, I'm the only vegetarian for a hundred miles, so I'm not hoping for a meeting. I'm mostly interested in learning to write popular articles on gender issues to celebrate symbiosis, rather than the current androgynous ideal of equality. I draw inspiration from Sociobiology, and a lot of experience with women in management.
I'm also willing to correspond on alternate technology, climate, nukes, etc.

Such interesting and eclectic interests in my midst! How exciting!

I am a female in her early twenties looking for other female companions in the NYC tristate area!

I like to be inclusive rather than exclusive when I make a post like this, but I feel it is important to note that I am in a happy, committed relationship and would appreciate that PMs are kept platonic in nature.

I am super interested in meeting other young Aspie women, so that we may bond over the absurdities of this world and possibly sit in silence together without judgment.
I am an illustrator and graphic designer by trade, but my love of creative endeavors spans outward from there! I fancy myself a singer/actress/prima ballerina, if only in the confines of my bathroom...
As a rule, people fascinate me. Studying people is my greatest obsession, as well as my greatest survival mechanism. I'd love to hear about you and all the stories contained within. PM me :)

My name's Alex, and I live in Dubuque (on the corner of Iowa, Wisconsin, and Illinois).

I've been in and out of my shell a bit over my life, but am in a real "go get 'em" phase as far as wanting to get to know other people right now. Music of all sorts, popular, jazz, classical, whatever, is my closest thing to a "special interest," but I'm curious about all of yours too and never turn down the chance to learn something new, so give me your best monologue and I'll nod like a pro. Right now I'm working part-time but planning to return to full-time soon and applying for music business programs in grad school to get some contracts for a killer book on the history of record labels, big and small, around the world, that I plan to write. Getting more exercise than I used to at terrific local walking spots and on a manual treadmill I recently bought, and trying out online dating to see where it goes.

I had a pretty interesting childhood half spent in France where my Dad worked and then came to bustling Chicagoland, but I wasn't diagnosed until 8 (they thought ADHD until then and have diagnosed some Tourette's, affectives, and basic essential tremor due to handwriting issue since then), and I only moved to the area at 12 and it's a little small-towny, and I kind of had an overprotective by then single Mom who got railroaded by some legal issues, trouble getting my license, and just some real drama that made me have to leave high school (college for those of you across the pond) and get a GED, and some bad social mistakes at the liberal arts college (now a university) I went to made it harder to live things down and still have the time to study. Anyway, I'm meeting cool people at my job and get a bit insecure at times about my poor social life outside of school and extracurriculars (quiz bowl and drama club for life, man!) and lost opportunities back then, so I want to make up for lost time and really put myself out there, seize the day as a 25-year-old trying to get that 15-25 risk-taking experience I didn't before.

Quarter-life crises are more fun together with really cool people, and while I work on making my life the best it can be, I want to meet the awesome, unique people on this forum, awesome dudes and lovely ladies alike, and have some good times. It goes without saying, PM me if you're even slightly curious or interested, because when you speak my language (French and Spanish as well as English, BTW), I come alive!
