I'm a bit overweight, mostly due to a pretty rough time I went through several years back, in which I went from about 120 pounds to close to my present weight at around 169. (I'm 5'6). Was a very skinny child, but lost all that, hoping to lose it again one day.

Nope. I'm not thin. I won't say my height, weight or BMI but I'm a size 20 in jeans and a 2x 3x in tops and dresses.

Not me. Meds for other conditions related to my ASD (anxiety, depression, ect) made me gain a tremendous amount of weight.

I am 6ft 1 and weigh approximately 150lbs. I am not blessed with great genetics in this regard and at one time weighed close to 200lbs. It was always a habit of mine to gorge on unhealthy snacks after school but thankfully I stopped doing this a few years ago. I have always been quite insecure about my physique, and being labelled as "fat" and "tubby" at school always hurt my feelings.

I... Found out that I was 184.2 lbs today, and needless to say, I was shocked at how much heavier I was, and it completely soured my good mood... I am pretty tall, ( about 5'7 1/2), but I'm still considered overweight...

Doesn't help that my skin isn't any better, either... Just when I was starting to feel more confident in myself, this happens... God, I'm so stupid.

Lol, I'm 200 at 6'. I've got some "baggage" around the stomach, but not a whole lot and most of that weight is in my legs-- I've got big old tree trunks down there from years of playing soccer.

Q) Are all AS people thin?

A) Yes, apart from the fat ones.

I am 162 cm/almost 5'4'' and around 53 kg/117 lbs. I don't consider myself skinny, I am just normal.

All other people I know who have diagnosed/suspected AS are very thin: for example, my father is 5'11'' and around 142 lbs, my former literature teacher is around 5'5'' and skinny, her son is as well, and my botany teacher is pretty much like my father. The only exception would be my best friend's sister, who's not fat but rather just naturally big and sturdy.

I think that's a coincidence though, I am sure there are people with AS who are overweight, Asperger's is not related to one's appearance.

I would expect many individuals on the spectrum to be overweight as I read that our energy levels are naturally lower than those who are not. The article stated that sensory overload and anxiety drains us, thus we might need more sustenance to fight off fatigue.

Fat aspie here. Well, I'm only slightly overweight, but I could do with losing some weight, and I have tried. Multiple mental and physical disabilities and living alone means I don't have the ability to cook. Lots of takeout and not much exercise. Nothing I can really do.

No.

Are all Asians thin? No.

Some are, some aren't. I haven't seen any research on the odds of a certain weight if on the autism spectrum.

Though, I've never met someone thin anywhere on the autism spectrum- I've come across the opposite, un-thin.

Nope, not all are thin. There definitely isn't a link between AS and being thin.
I used to be skinny as a twig before puberty + medication took its toll in the 5th grade.
